Got my Melatonin, will sleep well & vape great! It's a tiny amount of rayon in that bottle. Next time at the store I will pick up some Kotex U black box of tam~~ mindful of @JeremyR not wanting to say the word lol! The Kotex U might be more work to unravel but you'll get lots more.

I use 90vg/10dw diy. I make a 2.4 or 2.5 coil, rayon wick (google points) just tight enough to drag, pull the ends up like bunny ears, slide the ring down, cut the ears off straight about a 1/4 inch above the ring. Then stuff little by little with a small flat screwdriver. I can always trim later if dry or stuff little bits in gurgley.

That's a good idea; have to give that a shot soon. The box of Cellucotton I bought at Sally's had 500 feet it it, so I'm unconcerned about waste and free to experiment. I'll try your suggestion, which I take to mean leaving a bit of excess above the coil, to be pushed down if gurgling/spitting are issues.

That will be interesting. Not sure how the air will work but it may be fine. It's gonna need to be longer then normal right.. I think both coil sizes can work. With a 2.5 just leave a longer tail down into the ports. Not packed tight but to the bottom, when it's wet hopefully the rayon will spread out or swell a little with juice to fill it. Leave a almost full half wick to the top of the deck or enough to cover, and thin the tip gently to the bottom of the port. A 3mm will give you more to work with obviously and the Griffin feeds for days if you don't mind a 3mm coil but it will need a lot of wraps to extend across the deck and the 2.5 will give you more wraps at the same ohm.
i rewicked the griffin clone,, i went with a 3mm post for the coil and long tails to be sure it all reached.

in this experiment i made the coil really long and had to bend the legs like you might for some vertical coils i have seen. it wasn't too hard. what i found was i had to retrim the rayon 3 times to get the flow right and let the air flow better.
there is no noticeable flavor change.

next i will build a reg @ 2.5 coil over 1 air vent with long tails.. and split them to the 4 channels

ok,, reg coil build over 1 airvent,, 2.5 dia

made the rayon longer than normal to reach the far side channels.

trim the front rayon as normal.

tuck the far side rayon first into channels,, then trim.--this set of tails is more about channel filling and back up juice feeding

take a screwdriver/other,, and poke it across the deck to ensure both air vents are clear

flavor is nicer- a lot of air in the chamber circulating before it hits your drip tip

new wick pattern for me :)

So I was saying I put a build in the Smok rsst Genesis. This build is really nice and I'm pleasantly surprised by the vape I'm getting from it this time. And it's wicking well too. Gave it to my buddy and he's very happy with it. The wick is staying very clean for him.

I wicked the coil with it between my fingers, worked out well. Used a 2.5mm coil, the wick hole is 3mm... I cut about 75% of the wick straight off. Then tapered what was left. The idea is to have the tail fit loosely in the hole, and have the full wick sitting a mm or two above the deck. When filling it bubbles out the wick well. This allows the wick to draw effortlessly and for air to pull in to prevent vacuum lock.

Rsst, 2.5mm, triple twisted 32g, think it was 1.2 ohm or so, used Sally's Cc.

Once filled I just swirled it around to lay the wick around the tank. Working well with Vg. Don't know about crazy high power chain vapes but working good for regular vaping at 25w for my friend.

That tank in the picture that you 'beautifully" wicked ;) is unlike anything I have ever seen. What is it? Perhaos I am looking at it wrong, but is the coil above the tank?

This thread convinced me to try rayon. The link below lists all the Kotex brand products and their ingredients. The word rayon appears about halfway down. I would guess the 'wood pulp' designation should essentially be same thing. Anyone know for sure?

Feminine Hygiene Products for Girls – Pads, Liners, Tampons, Wipes

Welcome tckenno!

OK, I recommend the KU sleek or click, the Super will be a larger piece. The others contain adhesives that you don't want. Wood pulp isn't the same that's basically paper. Rayon is cellulose removed from the other components of wood pulp and recombined to form pure fibers.

Most can find this right at their local store, so it's quick and easy to get, you won't have to wait for an order to try rayon. Then you can purchase some easier to work with forms if you choose.

the odd thing,,i and others have offered to send Sally's rayon FREE to anyone and all you have to do is send me a self addressed stamped envelope. i stuff it and send it right back = no awkward shopping trips for most of you guys. :)
