So I was supposed to get my package (rayon) today but I wasn't here. I track it, it says delivered and it's not here.
About the time the mail runs, there was a wicked wind storm...
What do I do? Just buy another? Or ask the post office? I'm so bummed.
I would look around your neighborhood, it happened to me once when a package tracked as delivered, it was, but to a neighbor, she dropped it off. Or contact the post office. Where did you order from? You could try contacting them. Feel bad for you, which rayon did you buy? I could send you some, if you don't mind paying for the postage. Last time I sent @cheech226 some, I put in a Baggie & stuffed it full. @cheech226 there was a decent amount of rayon in the bag I sent you? The postage was $2.45.
I have a huge box of Sally's Graham.

Bummer, box or small package.. Drive down the block looking for a box, then notify the seller, they should be able to take care of it or tell you how to proceed.

There is a Sally Beauty supply in every medium size city. You can buy 500ft for less than 15.00. Store finder

Compared to other high end wicking materials rayon is cheap.. And I bet you wouldn't regret paying double for it..

Married? Girlfriend? Offer to pick up some stuff for her and get a box of Kotex u, the little black box, labeled 100% rayon fiber on back of the box.. The fiber is just as good as what you ordered. Just have to unpackage it... It will get you started..

stuck in a squishy pod called my brain
gonna rewick my griffin clone this weekend,, with 1 large coil and split the tails into 2 to fit into the 4 channels, currently i have been using the 2.5 rod,, may need to use the 3 rod to ensure there is enough wick to feed and trim back. any thoughts on this?

That will be interesting. Not sure how the air will work but it may be fine. It's gonna need to be longer then normal right.. I think both coil sizes can work. With a 2.5 just leave a longer tail down into the ports. Not packed tight but to the bottom, when it's wet hopefully the rayon will spread out or swell a little with juice to fill it. Leave a almost full half wick to the top of the deck or enough to cover, and thin the tip gently to the bottom of the port. A 3mm will give you more to work with obviously and the Griffin feeds for days if you don't mind a 3mm coil but it will need a lot of wraps to extend across the deck and the 2.5 will give you more wraps at the same ohm.

Sitting down, facing forward.
Hey Jeremy, any advice for what to use, and how to, replace the locator pin on the base of an FEV V3? My original one has lost it's locator pin. Not really a serious problem as long as I check its' orientation occasionally, but I'm a little short of ideas and hot to's.

Ok, so, new to the forums, but I've lurked for awhile, and gotten some great information. This thread is what convinced me to try rayon in my one and only mod, a Subox Mini 50w with the accompanying Subtank Mini, and I'm optimistic based on my experience so far: great flavor, no dry hits, etc. However, the one problem I've had is with leaking, spitting, and flooding. My second wicking job with rayon was nearly perfect: no flooding there. Since then, I've either had spitting/flooding and leaking issues from the start, or they've appeared either after a refill, or when about 75% through a tank.

My half-assed theory is that I haven't enough wicking, although I'm shooting for a firm pack between the coils (complete with squeaking sound) and thinner tails, although the design of the Suntank Mini has led me to try thicker and thicker tails, including a "pancake" method, which had had promising results, but started leaking/spitting 75% of the way through the tank. Also, I'm currently using 70/30 juice (highest VG I could get). Any suggestions would be most helpful!

EDIT: As an example my last wicking job started out great. There was almost no spitting, good flavor and vapor production, no dry hits up to 40w (on a .65-ohm coil). Everything stayed great until about 80% through the tank, when suddenly the gurgling started, shortly followed by juice pouring out of the air slots at the bottom of the tank. Thus, since rayon contracts as it sits in juice, my theory of there not being enough wicking.

I really liked the pancake method,, then some how lost my 'touch',, so I would make an itty-bitty ball of rayon and tuck it into the juice hole---or--- make the tails a tad longer and fold it back to block(ish) the juice holes.

Sounds like you are doing it right. My experience says coil diameter is 2.5mm max, didn't see what yours is. Coil lower to the air hole is better. Once the liquid level reaches the top of the rba cap, it is a crap shoot when you will start having problems. I think there is not enough vacuum at that point to hold back the liquid.

Welcome sniper!

You have the version with the big holes I take it.. Have you made sure all the o-rings are in place on the tank so your not losing vacuum?

What I would do is wick it snug, a little past the squeak point but not too much. Leave your tails long when you start... Then your going to pull the wick ends straight down on the sides of the base, don't pull tight at all just gently lay the fluffy wick, even just pulling down by a few strands on the bottom so it spreads out... then take scissors and in line with the edge of the deck make a vertical cut so when you put the ring on the wick fits perfectly against it. This effectively does thin the tail and leave plenty to control the juice. When its in it fits perfect if you were to pull the tails up horizontal you would see the angle cut pretty clearly. The amount of thinning needed is reduced, the shorter the wick is.

Get started with that and let us know.

Ok I'm at the supermarket right now & looking at the black box of Kotex U, none list rayon on the back of the box. Which one should I get? Thanks!

That is the one, get it. All those should be rayon.

There should be small print on the back that says what it's made of... You can see in this listing, third photo, constituents.

Men have to pick these up often for their woman, and it's probably not a problem for a woman.

Was it you Paul or @HolmanGT that runs the rsst Genesis?

I dug it out of its place on the shelf the last few years and put a build in it..

Didn't like it before, but I must say this build is vaping really well, I'm very surprised. I'll post my build pics later tonight or tomorrow.

Me for the wife. She still likes them best. They need airflow though. Two holes works too.

The genesis style Avocado is everything I liked about gennies with rayon but wanted to do to them. Large wick holes, adjustable air flow, easy build deck. Horizontal build on a real gennie is too hard to wick with the small wick holes that they have.

Mountainoakvapors still has some Gamma V2 on clearance for $20 - nice roomy wick holes.
