You have a point there... so the odds are good you would have either 2 or 3 juices from among the 4 categories... and you will have 2 even if it is a new flavor that wins... works for me I suppose.
Allazar, as for post #49 I was speaking about Boba's and Bounty Hunter, and them being similar.
Again, don't want to complicate this, we could go on and on about why this or that will or wont work or why something should be,, keeping it to the flavored types of category is a good clean system and gives a winner to each which there are many of vapors that do enjoy each category. I'm open to any suggestions but keeping these categories is a must here, we need to have this, as well as an overall Best of the Best winner. The bottom line is the vaping community here is going to have the final say with there vote. We can make a templet for the vote to make the counting a little easier too.

Drinks
Candies
Menthols

"combination of categories juice" might require way too much thinking on the part of a voter. Candies might also.
Well,.... it is my thought of how to combine 2-3-4 categories of a juice that may have numerous flavors in it, and if it is that style of juice then it would go to this category. If you or someone else can come up with a another 'Simple way ' to combine this type of juice into a different named category please speak up or forever hold your tongue
really,,,,, but please everyone think before they just post,,, I really think a combination there of all flavored category works and is simple, but if there is a better way I'm very open to hearing it.Again, also remember it will be whatever the people vote for,,, it isnt that hard to vote for a Chocolate orange tobacco in this category, or any style of juice that is a combination of the categories. Some people may only vote for one category too, or two, or all of them,, they dont have to place a vote in each category,, this category is a just in case type of thing, and if there is a juice that has numerous categories combined so it cant win all categories, but if it is that good can win this combination category along with the overall Best of the Best.

How many juices can you think of that fit that "combination" category? Most of them are fruit + tobacco, which is still a tobacco, or multiple fruits which is still just fruit. I can't think of anything off the top of my head beyond that.
Too many categories in my view...
1. Tobaccos & Tobacco Blends (with the exception of menthols)- If it has tobacco it is a tobacco blend unless it has menthol as well
2. Menthol and Menthol Blends- If it has menthol then it is a menthol blend
3. Fruits- TBD
4. Desserts (including bakery and candy)- TBD
5. Drinks- If it is named after a type of drink then it is a drink rather than a fruit or dessert
6. Best New 2012- First sold in 2012 to qualify (beta testing not included since that is not sold)
Even reducing it to that... you will have people discussing whether or not something is a fruit or a dessert, or a menthol or a tobacco.
The top vote getter would also win:
7. Best Overall...
If you cleaned up those definitions for fruit and dessert to provide the distinction between them, then that would still offer quite a few categories without splintering it so far that you would create confusion as to which a juice would fall into.

We can always remove it if we decide it isn't needed, it was put there to take out one juice winning all categories, as well as juice's that may have a combination there of all or some of the different categories, again we can ask why all day long and question every rule or business plan ever made,,,, if anyone has any intelligent suggestion/ ideas,,please post it all are welcome if they have something worth while to bring to the table or great to add.
I'm still not sure you should actually have a voting category for "best new". I'm afraid most people aren't going to know what juices are new and which aren't. Whoever is tabulating the votes could figure that out at the end.
This is where I'm at Allazar,,,,, just not sure on adding the candy to the Dessert/BAKERY,,, Very well may turn out this way in the end, for now we are gathering info,,, but I'm with you on this. No new 2012 either.

Edit; Best new is not a category,,, if it gets the most votes in one of the categories then it is a winner, if not then it isnt,,, there is going to be ONLY 1 Best of the BEST 2012 WINNER, Then runner ups or 2nd 3rd and so on
OK... seems a shame not to offer it... but I do understand that it could be confusing to voters.
As to the post #49 from last year... I was talking about the same thing... House Blend, Boba's Bounty and Bounty Hunter are all completely different flavors to me. I taste almost nothing similar in them to be honest. One is my all-day vape, and the other two I like after they have steeped.
Out of curiosity would you put House blend under drink since it is a coffee category and contains no tobacco? Many voters think that it does... even if they are mistaken according to the creator.

Yup, but many of the people last year had said they tasted the same flavors in some of these,,, but that's why we are all different and taste differently,, thank Gawd there is Chocolate & Vanilla and numerous other flavors so we all have CHOICES

So here's what we're thinking:
* Overall Juice of the Year - this will be a unique category independent of the others, i.e. the one category we had last year. The winner will be tallied from votes for this category alone. People could vote in this category without necessarily voting in the others and could (and probably will) nominate something here that they voted for in one of the categories below.
The sub-categories would be:
1. Tobaccos & Tobacco Blends (with the exception of menthols)
2. Menthol and Menthol Blends
3. Fruits
4. Bakery/Desserts
5. Drinks
6. Candy
7. Best New 2012 - I still don't think enough people know what juices were created in 2012 (me included), but we can keep this category and see where it goes.
Still not sure about an "other" category. It seems to me that anything that doesn't fit in the categories above probably won't get more than one- probably trollish- vote. But I guess we can see.
Of course any further input welcomed. I'm excited to see what comes out of this as it seems there's been an explosion of new vendors in the past year!

Personally, I'll probably vote the very same juice in 3 of those categories and won't vote in any of the other categories. Hopefully not everyone will feel that way.

What one juice would you put across three categories? You know though, you do bring up an important point. Even with one big category last year, there were people that had....issues...adhering to the (almost no) rules. So maybe we're back to one big category. Willpower...waning...can't.....go........on..............
I'm not trying to be difficult, I only vape tobacco based juices. I wouldn't know what to vote for in the other categories. And my favorite juice is not only a tobacco, but also new to 2012, so you see my quandary,
