For those who are curious about the kerosine method of testing. The little individual jelly jars given out in restaurants like Pancake House work great. Just be sure they are glass and have a metal cap. Drill a 2.5mm hole in the center of the metal cap, fill with kerosine, insert wick thru hole and light the wick. Flame size and time it takes to burn the kerosine will define the efficiency of different wicks.

A little fun on a Sunday morning and I would add a moral, "watch out for spin."

The Pastor's ...

A Pastor entered his donkey in a race and
it won.
The Pastor was so pleased with the donkey
that he entered it in the
race again and it won again.

The local paper read:
PASTOR'S
... WINS.

The Bishop was so upset with this kind of
publicity that he ordered the Pastor not to enter
the donkey in another race.

The next day the local paper headline
read:
BISHOP
SCRATCHES
PASTOR'S
....
This was too much for the Bishop so he
ordered the Pastor to get
rid of the donkey.

The Pastor decided to give it to a Nun in a
nearby convent.

The local paper, hearing of the news, posted
the following headline the next day:

NUN HAS BEST ... IN TOWN.

The Bishop fainted.
He informed the Nun that she would have to
get rid of the donkey so she
sold it to a farmer for $10.
The next day the paper read:

NUN SELLS
... FOR $10.

The Bishop couldn't take it, so he
ordered the Nun to buy back
the donkey and lead it to the plains where
it could run wild.
The next day the headlines read:

NUN ANNOUNCES HER ... IS WILD AND FREE..
The Bishop was buried the next day.

There are two morals of the story . . . being
concerned about public opinion
can bring you much grief and
misery . . even shorten your
life. So be yourself and enjoy life.
and
Stop worrying about everyone else's ... and
you'll be a lot happier!

Have a nice day!

On my #500 mesh order from the mesh company and also on Quigs order they sent the one sheet of #500 and 2 free sheets of #400. So if you get this make sure you put the sheets up to the light to tell the difference or you may be making #400 wiicks thinking they are #500 wicks. Luckily the top sheet I pulled was the #500.

heh.. I sooo need a macro-digicam.. Very pretty!

I've been doing the fold & roll schtick and not even worrying about a hole down the center. Scrufty, but serviceable. The hole is - well, I just grabbed a bit and cordless and reamed it out a bit. Didn't worry about the slant as I honk the SS coil over in a bit of an arc anyway.

If only this damnably hobby wasn't so addictive.. It's not just money, it's space as well!

Thank you Sir. I was trying to figure out how to get the wick closer to the longer post. That's the ticket!

Slanting has an additional advantage that you can use a longer wick and it goes up into the mouth piece. If you use a vertical wick with a NR extension from the pos post it has to be short or it presses into the cap. Also this slanted wick works very well with the original air hole which is right under the coil/wick, an ideal position for excellent TH.
