BJ, I see you have two ideas that need to come together.
The part about using 28G to heat the wick enough to produce vapor, sure the heat will be there, but airflow can't get into the wick so the heat doesn't get used efficiently.
Now with the dual wick figure eight wrap, if you drilled the second hole quite close to the first, the wicks would be parallel to each other with just the wire crossing in between and airflow can get to everywhere there is coil. With some careful math from TC's chart you can choose which gauge doubles the length/ ohms ratio to get 6-8 wraps on each to get it how you liked with 32G.

I don't understand your physics, I don't need air to heat the wick, the thermal properties of SS wire in the mesh in contact with a hot coil is the primary source. In many of my wicks the wick gets red hot with the coil if I pump the voltage up. I understand the closer hole but was using a unit that was setup for a U wick..
...nanopartical covered rocks are super hard to find...
