I concur
entirely with this

. For my part, I'm comparing it to a Penstyle 801 (RN4072), and to a Mini 901 (RN4075) which I've been using since day one.
I originally bought a 510 in March when it was still relatively new (and not without some problems) and the kit I got was a total disaster - the batteries wouldn't charge properly if at all, all but one of the carts didn't fit, the vapour and flavour were as good as non-existent, and - to top it all - one of the fibres from under the bridge must have snapped or something and shot out into my mouth, painfully making me feel as if it had exploded against my throat, leaving me with a sore throat for hours. I returned it for a refund and swore I'd never try one again.
Having seen how so many people endlessly rave about it non-stop since then, I recently thought I'd take a chance and buy another one to see what the "fuss" was about and in case I was missing something that had perhaps been much improved on in the meantime.
The vapour on my new 510 is
outstanding, there are mega masses of plumes and plumes of it, almost too much (if that's possible) and I often end up trying to wave it away from me as there's so much of it! My Penstyles are next (
very smooth and full), with the 901 giving the least of the 3.
With regard to flavour, I find each model seems to give a different
type of flavour rather than more or less flavour. I don't find the 501 has any "less" flavour than my 901 or 801; it just seems to me that it's
different, in that it's perhaps less "harsh" and more sort of "fresh" tasting than the 901, and maybe a tad stronger flavour than the 801. It's very difficult to describe the aspect of flavour as it's so subjective to each of us, so we might all interpret it differently. For me:
- The 901 has the "harshest" of the 3, which may make it feel as if it had "more" flavour.
- The Penstyle has a thick velvety "smoothness" to the flavour, which may make it feel as if it had "less" flavour.
- The 510 seems to be somewhere in-between the two, not as "harsh" (or having "less" flavour, if that's how others interpret it) as the 901, but "stronger" (or having "more" flavour) than the Penstyle in that it's sort of "sharper". I really can't describe it, it's just... different, but not necessarily less or weaker.
Throat hit? Hmmm, I get absolutely
none...

. I find the 901 has the strongest of all and even more with a 3.7v mod battery, but haven't tried a 510 atty on a 3.7v mod so I've no idea if it might help increase it and give it at least the same TH as I get from a Penstyle.
For my own personal further comparison, my first e-cig in early January this year was the Intellicig EVO (a modified M401, I believe) which I bought a couple of weeks before my first 901 and Penstyle. At the time, there was no two ways about it for me - the EVO had by far the strongest TH and "harshest" (or "strongest") flavour. I later got the generic M401 and found it totally whimpish compared to the EVO (and to the 901 and Penstyle). I then bought some new EVO atties in May or June, thinking my old EVO atties were maybe giving up the ghost as well as to compare to both my original EVO ones and the newer generic M401 ones - and could swear they were little different to the generic M401. Both seemed as wispy as each other and I was also getting totally fed up with constantly fiddling about with the tiny leaky carts as well. So I gave up on the both the EVO and M401.
That's my impression on it, and - as they say - "your mileage may vary"
