Hello Deb :) glad to hear your enjoying the atomizer .

If you build your coil like this

And install it with the tails on the top side this will drop the coil so its really close to the base of the atomizer keeping your coil saturated is much easier. Remember you don't want it to touch the base of the atomizer you can adjust it easy enough I use tweezers

THIS set-up is the one I'm going to make!!! It's plain and SIMPLE!lolAnd I never thought to attach it to the posts in that configuration.
No wonder my ERA's weren't so good,lol.

Yep every bottom feed atty should be in a Z so the wick is directly over the hole and as low as possible.

I haven't rebuilt mine yet - still happily chugging away on the stock coil - but when I do, I'm going vertical like I do with the Chalice. One leg in the hole on a post, coil upright, other leg wrapped around the top of the screw on the other post. The wick will run through the coil with about 1/8" sticking out above the coil, and an inch or so hanging below, sitting on the floor of the atty to sop up juice and wick it upward.

I tried that and didn't have much luck. I like to keep my coil as close to the posts as possible. When I did the vertical I wound up with a couple of mm of hot wire both sides of the coil. Hot wire with no wick touching it really affects the taste.

When I go horizontal I pull it right up so the coil is touching the posts on each side that way every mm of wire that heats up has wet wick touching it.

I haven't had that problem - the legs will glow red when the wick is dry, but when it's wet I get no glow anywhere along the wire. Interesting.

Strange, I only tried it once for a few hours but I had nothing but trouble. If horizontal wasn't working awesome for me I guess I might try it again. But I'm a happy camper for now :)

Picked up REOmizers today. WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!!!! Put it on VVG with stock coil, dry burned a bit, and started immediate vap coma before I got home. DH even likes it.

You done great Robert!!!! So far I like it better than ERA. I like the way it looks, too; simple clean lines.

Many thanks Robert, Feisty Alice

Oh yeah. Picked up some unbleached cotton yarn at Walley World to start playing with "other than silica."

Been playing with my Reomizer for a few days now. Gotta say I am thrilled. Just as good in performance as my ERA, less costly and easier to get. Also thrilled with 30ga kanthal. Had only used 32ga on all my previous rebuildables. Running an 8 wrap coil at 1.6-1.7 ohms and literally filing rooms with clouds. Haven't been brave enough to try 28ga yet.

Thanks, Robert, for this amazing atty to go with your equally impressive Reos.

I agree- had only used 32 kanthal...put 30 on today w/ 6 wraps and wow!!!

Now it seems lots of people are talking up the 30 Kanthal!

Now that I bought a 100ft roll of 32 Kanthal!

Now ya tell me WOW!

I still believe that for my use and my daughters that the 32 is what we needed. Can make the L.R. coils and the 2.5 too.

I was actually considering a higher, perhaps 34 Kanthal. That would have done well for my 2.5 coils. But I think taste would have been less with a L.R. using that wire.

I'm using the 32 gauge Kanthal. When I bought the REOmizer, I ordered some 28 gauge and some 30 gauge from Rob's site. I've tried all three now, and I prefer the 32 gauge. I've considered getting 34 gauge, too, but think the 32 gauge is just about perfect for me. I can add a loop or two to the coil and raise the ohms as high as I'd ever want. I use 4-5 wraps and get a wick of around 1.5-1.7 ohms...again, perfect for me. I've figured out that every loop I add raises the ohms by about .2 ohm. I've gone as high as 2.0-2.1 ohms with 7 loops. With the REOmizer having the posts so far apart, I know I could fit 9-10 loops with no problem at all. (Love that about the Reomizer, BTW.)

I got my reomizer's yesterday and rewicked them all after trying one of them, ended up with coils from 1 to 1.8ohm, waiting on a vice to roll some proper coils.

I do have a question though, i've seen some pictures of a device for checking the ohm rating on coils, and was wondering if anyone could direct me to where to get said device?

I just picked up two of them one for me and one for my daughter. They work great! You can put on your RBA and put on your coil then check it!

Great price here and use ECF5 for an extra 5% off your order!

in anticipation of getting a reomizer, I started experimenting with my phoenix. What seems to work pretty well is rolling a coil around a toothpick and connecting it to the posts. That way you can keep testing the resistance and all before putting softer wicks into it. It's easy to adjust the coils on it to make them even.

When you're all done with the coil, take out the toothpick, and put a wick of your choice.
