Weird question but for the people that quit/reduced smoking analogs, does anyone still crave the dirty high?

I got a PV about a week ago and have been vaping a lot using the high nicotine e-liquid. I really don't know how good that is for you but its gotten me from constantly having a lip in. To be honest, i think it just moved my nicotine delivering media from dip and the occasional cigs to vaping. The good thing is that it seems a lot easier to control the urges using vaping as I'm noticing myself going to it less frequently. Either way, the other day right after climbing, my friends were smoking analogs and I wanted to see what effect my vaping had on my craving for them. I'm not sure how to describe how I felt. The only reason I smoked cigarettes was to get nicotene but taking away the nicotine aspect of it, I was still craving the physiological effects cigarettes had. What are the effects of all the other crap in cigarettes that cause the dirty high?

Don't know if anyone knows all that ....but here is a link you might find informative...

I haven't had a single craving for an analog since I began vaping 12 days ago. It almost stuns me to think that it's been that long. I've tried quitting before using a number of other methods (patches, lozenges) and it seemed like the days dragged on and my cravings were unbearable, but with this, I honestly haven't even thought about having a regular cigarette.

Stunning is a good word, my friends that smoke don’t believe me... but stunning is an excellent word for my transition!

I gotta say I definetly miss analogs. I got my 510 and four bottles of non-nicotine e-liquid (as in Canada its hard to find), and it just doesn't seem to be doing it for me. If I was vaping with nicotine I'm sure I wouldn't crave cigarettes, but its not the same. I got four tobacco flavored e-liquids and was really dissapointed with the taste. Eventually I'll get some better tasting e-liquid with some nicotine in it, and I'm sure it will be better and I'll lose my crazings for the dirty analogs.

congrats to all you guys and girls. My brother has yet to stop smoking analogs, but i just gave him the spare riva 510. Hopefully it'll work.

I guess another questions is, since you're still doing nicotene e-liquid in PV form, you're desire for analogs disappeared, but it seems at least for me its just one source of nicotene for another, have you been able to put down the PV also if you wanted to?

Jeff,

I can get that buzz from Nic anytime I want to with my Ecig. Just buy a bottle of higher Nic juice and take a few tokes. Your head will spin just like the good old days:) I carried a bottle of high nic juice in ym purse the first 3 months. I only used it in emergencies and called it my "911" juice. It worked. I never caved.

I started vaping with the intention of not "quitting". That is to say, I started without the added mental stress of quitting. I have noticed that I've gone from a pack a day, to about 2 packs a week without even trying! I figured if I didn't "Feel" like I had to quit, it would be easier. Now analogs are starting to taste worse and worse. Hopefully in the next month or two, I will plan on cutting analogs out completely.

Every once in a great while I get a craving for one of my old fave ultralights I smoked before they became too expensive and I had to smoke cheap nasty lights instead. It's like I get distracted doing something and it gets to be extra long since my last vape (like 1/2 hour or more) and I suddenly think oo I want smoke get get the mental picture/remembrance of the taste/smell of those old fave ultralights THEN I remember oh right I vape now. I haven't been vaping tobacco liquids for a while (except for V4L WOWbacco which is more like a bittersweet cocoa) but I should load a carto up with my BWB Casablanca for times when I get the urge to smell something more tobaccoey.

BTW all - Gourmet Vapor sale right now - code gv50 for 50% off! I did some major playing with their Flavor Creator last night. Tweaked up a couple of new versions of a complex peach vape I'm working on and tweaked a cocoa one too. Every time they have a sale I play. Their 5ml bottles are under $2 w/ the sale. I think the sale may be over 5/11 at midnight.

Re the question above about putting down the PV? No but since I don't let myself vape constantly I've been able to lower my nicotine twice. I started at 18mg and I am now on 6mg (big loss of TH but I bought a Riva so I can get some hotter hits when I feel the need). The lower I got my nic, the less needy I was. My nicotine urges are now less desperate. But I think the larger habit is actually the hand-to-mouth and inhaling part and that is why e-cigarettes work so well as a replacement.
