"They" say, that for something to become a habit, it must be done routinely 50 times .
Now depending on "what" IT is, that might be 50 days or whatever.

So whatever it is, everyone is technically addicted. vape, drinks, foods, love or the idea of "love" if suddenly your day changes and you aren't able to do "IT" without freaking out or feeling depressed or angry and edgy, then you my dear are addicted.

Somethings are more healthy and others hurt you or the people around you because you're freaking out.

I can relate to the op very much so. I have very high anxiety and ptsd. There are certain things one must do to manage their symptoms and those things can be learnt via groups, therapy &/or psychiatrist. But one must make the effort on their own to take what they learn and apply it to their daily life. Just attending and going through the motions doesn't do much. Self medicating is bad, obviously. There is something call a deep breathing technique that really helps a person get grounded and to a relaxed state, devoid of panic.

Now to get back to E-Cigarette's, they have a certain method of breathing, MTL and DL. My experience has always been that vaping has always calmed me down from most moods and states of mind. Therefore I can understand why one who has certain symptoms enjoys vaping and uses it to relaxe themselves. I don't see it as self medicating rather as a safe and helpful method to calm oneself down from negative symptoms. This is my experience.

It's not a surprise to me how when being a smoker, fellow smokers and I would feel like and say, either out loud or to themselves, "Boy what a stressful day I need a cigarette", or "I really can use a cigarette now". Smokers associate stress with a cigarette at least half the time. Now being an ex smoker I associate vaping with stress, for the reasons I explained just before.

Exactly, thats why I have more than one type of RTA. I have the MTL, for when Im just relaxing, then I have some that are more DL and larger clouds for when Im stressing out or upset. If Im really stressed I will grab my Flash-E-Vapor on a reg device, set it at 14watts and take big , giant, direct inhales till I calm down, then I switch to my more relaxing devices.

If Im really calm and just relaxing its my Origen RDA. Thats when I enjoy my gross NETs and the dripping and smooth MTL vape is just so good.

Yes I have an addictive personality and high anxiety,

I take prozac,

I have very high anxiety and ptsd.

I started vaping something a few days ago for similar issues and it seems to really be helping so far. If I still think it is working (and worth the cost) after these 2 x 30ml bottles are vaped up I will be getting some unflavored to mix in with my diy (with nic for during the day and without nic for evening) juices. I don't think I can mention it more specifically unfortunately due to forum rules even though it is legal in all 50 states.

If vaping is going to make you worry this much, then I wouldn't do it. All your questions seem to be concerns. We are happy to answer and help in any way we can. But this is kinda starting to sound like a research project. Which is fine. Ask away and we will answer. My suggestion is that if vaping worries you......don't do it.

@samandmax

I'm sorry to ask but are you a smoker ? Are you trying to quit smoking?

If yes, I believe that vaping is the best way to quit cigarettes because, among other things, you get less anxiety and because vaping harm is noticeable less that smoking (95% is a commonly cited figure). I don't really care if vaping is addictive or if it becomes and addiction since I already was addicted to tobacco cigarettes. Now that I vape I feel much better in a lot of ways so I'm quite happy and thankful for finding vaping

If you are not addicted to tobacco I don't see the point to start vaping. It is not absolutely harmless so why bothering? Why adding more concerns to the ones you already have?

I hope you will deal with your anxiety problems, I have them too but I decided to find alternative methods, I don't believe in pharmaceutical drugs to fight depression and anxiety , BUT that is just my personal and uneducated opinion.

I agree with Tomasius74's post above - if you smoke, then vaping is great at substantially reducing the risk to your health, or as a stepping stone to quitting forever.

However, inhaling anything other than air into your lungs is never going to be risk free, so if you don't smoke, starting vaping (even at 0 nic) doesn't make much sense.
