Savoir-Faire is everywhere!
soo... if we have more than 1000 posts here on ECF.. are we addicted to ECF?? ;)
Im only up to 15,365 posts....
I was really hooked on it from day one until after my first manic geekout where when it ended, I owned over half a dozen ProVaris and countless other vaping devices that I never used. When my mania took a dump and I was in the depths of despair and beating myself up about buying SO MUCH vaping crap I didn't need or even much WANT, I stopped coming to the board.

I'm back again because I had another little geekout....lol

This place is dangerous if one has access to a little money because everyone tempts everyone else every time we show off a new shiny...lol

Of course I'm addicted not to just nicotine I'm addicted to buying new mods, tanks buildings new coils etc etc

It's an amazing addiction to have its a hobby
Honestly, I think it's not the nicotine that is the real hook when it comes to cigarettes. I mean, we THINK it is because they TELL us it is and lowering or raising one's nic level when first trying to stop the cigarettes DOES ease the cravings. However, once we're not hanging on by the fingernails and fighting to keep away from lighting up the "analogs", it's downright EASY to reduce the nic level and it just gets easier and easier the more time passes.

Heck, the only reason I vape these days is for the hand to mouth motion. There are many times I don't even think about vaping for up to a week at a time.

We convince ourselves we NEED something and we have to play mindgames with ourselves in order to trick our brains into realizing that we're not going to melt down if we don't have it. That was the best thing vaping did for me. Made me realize that cigarettes weren't my master and that I could take or leave them without stressing one iota.

Sure, I occasionally get a craving - we all do and we all will here and there if we were heavy smokers - but I recognize it for what it is and can distract myself away from it, or even just take a couple of puffs on someone's cigarette to remind myself that they're actually REALLY GROSS and that I'd never have started smoking in the first place had it not been everywhere....on television, in movies, everyone's parents smoked, etc.

Very true, about it being easy to reduce nic, once you get past the initial "withdrawal" period. I never have used much nicotine, 10mg was the highest I ever went, because anything higher just made me nauseous; I couldn't go any higher even when I had bad cravings, I had to add WTA -- and that's harder to step down than nicotine BY FAR. Because of the WTA, I actually do consider myself still physically addicted; vaping just happens to be the means for me to get the substance I need. But I've persevered all year in bringing the percentage down that I add to my ejuice; started at 10%, currently at .7%, so it won't be long till it's completely gone. Then my addiction will be strictly behavioral -- I could bring the nicotine down to zero and vape that for 6 months, but if I quit, I'd go back to craving cigarettes.

I have no plans to reduce nicotine that far, however, because I'd like to keep my marbles where they belong, and no plans to quit vaping, because cigarette cravings are awful, and I never want to experience them again, and put myself at risk of returning to that awful habit.

I wondering if ocd is apart of vaping? I feel like I always have to touch or see my apv or I panic

Right with you on this one, my mod is either in hand, pocket or within my field of view...but mostly in hand, the only place it doesn't go is the shower and only because it's not waterproof.

That will ease as you get further away from cigarettes. Recently, I had been elsewhere in the house and set my PV down. I walked by the table where the 3,000 piece puzzle sits and started working on it. Next thing I know, a couple of hours had gone by. Figured a vape was in order....now where did I leave it? No panic set in, just the normal puzzlement (see what I did there? ) reminiscent of someone wondering where they left their glasses. It took a long time, for sure, to get to that point. You will get to that point :)

I find it a lot easier if I had my glasses on to find my glasses but,it never works out that way.
:D
Mike

If you have them on and then go looking for them, that means it's time for a stronger prescription. :D

I want to know: What good is a "Glasses Repair Kit" to a person who wears glasses?

Think about it..think about it… :D

I just hand it to my husband, who is nearly 9 yrs older than I am, but sees up close just fine. "Fix these, please," and he does. :D

I vape because I am heavily addicted to nicotine and have been since the late 70's. I don't feel cool at all. As a matter of fact I feel quite awkward vaping in public because I assume everyone knows I'm a nicotine addict. Maybe I'm fooling a few and I really do look cool. That would be nice, but I can't fool myself.

Getting your nic via vaping is an essentially harmless vice, much like drinking coffee or other caffeinated beverages. I don't give a hoot if people know I'm a caffeine or nicotine addict. I enjoy them both, and like Mark Twain, "I haven't a particle of confidence in a man who has no redeeming petty vices."

It is strictly YOUR choice if you choose to feel ashamed of being any sort of "addict." No one can force you to feel that -- only your own choice.
