I have a question for my fellow tootlers -- has anyone tried the airflow control driptips? Do they help close down the airflow more than the device itself? I find my new Derringer far too airy, even when I've got the barest edge of just one hole showing, and I was hoping that maybe one of those AFC driptips could help me close it down a bit more.

I never recommend side buttons... That button is a short waiting to happen :p
You would be surprised at how easy a bottom button can be to fire, it all comes down to finding a holding position that works for you
I love my Vapor Shark and it has a side button. In fact every PV I own have side or front buttons on them. I had one with a top button but I moved the button to the side because that's where my fingers are.

Amen to that Nanny, I'm tired of getting emails pushing these sub-ohmer specialty juices. Nuttin' wrong with bein' a sub-ohmer but not all of us crank our watts so high that we can't vape juices that have more than 3 mg of nic or have our juice so thick that there's no way you're gonna get more than a day or two's worth of vaping out of a coil before it's completely gunked.

But but but...... what about that gorgeous half hour of batt life and consumption of 30ml of vliquid? ;)

WHOOSH!!!!!!!!

I was thinking about putting a comment on the normal amount of Eliquid tootle puffers use but I can't compete with that.

I would actually recommend a side button if you get a fully mechanical mod and have any issues with your hands. My GGs, 69, Roller and EA mods all have the side "pinkey" button and I have never had a problem with any of them, if I did they are super simple to change the spring. They are probably the most comfortable/easiest for me to use of my fully mechanical mods because I don't have a lot of strength in my hands anymore so my bottom button ones that used to be some of my favs don't get a lot of use from me any more.

ETA: if you would want a a bottom feeder fully mechanical mod you can't beat a reo and there are the vmods for a lessor price, both have buttons on the top and I find them both easy to hold and use.

Those won't cut down your airflow more, they are really for cooling down hot vapor for sub ohmers...at least every one I have seen

And further clarification.... I was specifically speaking on side button tube mods (not box mods and the like).... Don't like the design, heard a lot about issues with them, button heating up excessively. The spring is so small, it has a higher likelihood of shorting the switch in the closed circuit position..... That would be bad. Find one with a magnetic switch.... Different story.

I think my Tootle Puffin days are numbered, finally have a REO on the way with a couple custom BF drippers from Catfish Atty's, I'm a flavor chaser, and can't stop chasing it.......:)
Don't mean ya gotta stop tootle puffin. I tootle puff on a Reo with a dual coil nuppin 1.3ish ohms.

If any of your stock 510 Kayfun drip tips will fit on the Derringer or stuck inside it's built on drip tip. Should cut down the air flow by quite a bit.

I just found out I'm a tootle puffer!

In fact, most of the time, although I've been using mods for very long, I vape with 2.8 ohm standard Boges (no cartotanks) at 4.2 v, which gives little more that 6 w. Still, I never get dry hits, the draw is great, quite ok flavour, ok TH and it's on the warm side. So, even though I try other things, I definitely don't need more than my Boges. I am a total tootle puffer, lol.
