the zapper gun sounds a great idea

only prob i can see is you would prob also need a big hammer and vise for beating the coils into shape as the wire swg would be larger and thicker ie harder to work

may also need a small winch to pull the huge wicks through the coil

when it comes to cleaning tho ya could just use a disc grinder on the massive coils no more need to dry burn

if only there was such a zapper gun
Zapper gun. Amyone know about wire wrapping bits? I have wire wrapping bits that wrap about 1.5 mm coils from 30 to 18 gauge just squeeze the trigger and zip a perfect coil every time around a pin.
I will have to pull them out and see how they work for Evod coils.

But what if those 2.5 reading glasses is your normal correction?

I was already in the habit of buying the strongest readers I could find at the dollar store for sewing an such. Usually you can find +3.5 and sometimes +4 if you're lucky.

I can't use those, from the dollar store; I get the worst headaches of my life. Something about the glass. I get mine from Walgreens; they're about $10, but don't give me headaches, so entirely worth it. But the highest I can find is 3.5; I got my 4's from my mom, who ordered them from one of her gazillion catalogs. :D

There are a couple of "extreme reading" glasses (+4 and +5) at Duluth Trading Co. Looks like your typical "granny glasses" . Ordered both at same price back in 2011 and have enjoyed since. The +5's I use for building coils. :)

Next time I think I might give choochoogranny's place a try.

Our local dollar store often has foster grant glasses, both sun and reading, in......$1 for what is often $30 on the original tag :p

They are pricey, Ocelot; but haven't changed their cost on them since 2011. I've got astigmatism too, but these glasses are well made and haven't given any problem. Wind up wearing the +4's more than my prescription glasses!

Couldn't find back then anything above a 3.25 here in Chattanooga let alone a 3.5 or 4.0. When I saw the +5, just jumped all over that one plus the +4 just in case I needed for future use.

Whaddaya know, 2 yrs. later I'm trying to build some coils! :)

Running around town this afternoon and the missus calls me. "Pick me up a pack of smokes while your out"...crud. Ok. Swing by a store, tell the clerk 1 pack of Marlboro red in the box....$6.82....WTF! Another reason to dance for being smoke free!

Yeah, I really don't have to go to Walgreens much at all anymore. :D I've only used about 5 of the 80 cotton balls, and I only replace my reading glasses every year or two... *shrug* My husband *loves* not having to stop by Walgreens every-other day on his way home. :D Our bank balance loves it too! :D :D :D

I vaped for almost 2 years before I started building coils. I was concerned that it would become another hobby to distract me from things I needed to get done. When finally something did come up that I really needed to get away from, wrapping coils worked quite well. I got a couple of Kayfuns, but I wasn't very impressed. It wasn't until I found the Rǖzgar (which, btw, no one else seems to like very much) that an RTA became my primary device. That said, I'm still a Tootle Puffer - 1.5Ω/4.4v/13w - and I rarely build coils. The one in my Rǖz is over a year old.

Ha! If I had to wait a yr. between building coils, I'd have to learn all over again!.....Short term memory and all....Heehee :)

I had a couple that lasted well over 5 months... and sure enough, though wrapping them was easy, getting them mounted was a skill I seemed to have lost. :D

Ran into that with my KF. The coil was 18 months old when I finally had to replace it. Damn I couldn't remember what the build was. Took me three tries to get a coil in it that I was satisfied with. It's really hard to even care tho' now that I have a lifetime supply of cartomizers. ;)

But don't worry .... I only have halftimers.

I seem to make my coils differently from other people. I leave the tails long and bend them up along the posts. By bending the tails back down I can remove the coil, clean it and put it back. I can also store it if I want to put in a different coil.
