Whisky with honey and lemon is good for a sore throat, not so sure about a cold.

That would be correct. There aren't enough antioxidants in honey/lemon/whisky to make any difference to a cold. Sangria has a much higher antioxidant content.

I realize now that this got by a lot of people. See, in Colorado grocery stores can't sell things that contain ethyl alcohol, except for a low alcohol version of barley juice.

That's when you need to break out the sangria. You live close to Spain. I suggest you go there to get over your cold. Sangria and Serrano ham will set you right.

Do you feed them green ham, too? I've found that you can make your own by buying regular ham and leaving it in the fridge for a few months.

Nope only good ham and fresh green eggs. Good country ham usually when I treat them to a Gramps breakfast.
