Troll.... NICE HAUL, buddy! {snickers at "Feck Off"}

Thanks, everyone, for the tips. Andria - yup, kayfuns (clones anyway). I did finally learn I had to build a bigger coil for them - I'd been getting so many dry hits, I'd put them down for a couple of months before I tried breaking back out.

The only maddening thing is getting that tank all loaded up, then *HACK* - dry hit. Gotta drain the tank, futz with the wick and the coil (or replace the wick if it got burnt), reload.... I guess that's my Mr. Miyagi "Wax On/Wax Off" training....

Hope y'all have a great day :)

You might try one of these: $2.94 Kayfil Tool - stainless steel at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Thanks!

If I ended up with a bad build on the KFL, I would always put a finger over the air hole and do a sharp quick primer puff. Watch for the bubbles going up in the tank and you are good to go, if not try a second quick pull with the air hole blocked off.

Don't pull too hard on the KF Mini as it will flood very easily and start to gurgle, then just blow it out into a vape rag.

So if you are stuck somewhere with a poorly wicking build just primer puff every now and then till you can fix it. That Kayfill tool is perfect for breaking down a KFL without draining the tank but I don't think it will work with a stock 3.1 as the top cap o-ring is not trapped like the KFL's are.

OK who is gonna try the pankake method first? I'm skeeerd! Looking at it closely it sure looks susceptible to flooding like the Big Easy in a hurricane. :)

Pick Me! Pick Me!

I'll try it on a Mini tonight when I get home.

Yeah, the wicking can be a real pain, as someone else noted something I noticed a while back, twisting a coil and getting it mounted, that's the easy part.... getting it wicked, that's an art, and like art, no one can really explain it, it's just something you get a feel for, after many trials-and-errors. :blink:

But about the thick juice... maybe a little water or grain alcohol, just to thin it a little? Doesn't have to be much, just to bring down the viscosity a little.

But don't feel bad; I've been building coils and wicking them for about a year now, and there are STILL times when a wick just isn't right and I have to go thru the contortions (draining the tank, pulling the wick, doing another wick, re-priming, re-assembling, refilling) to get it right -- it doesn't happen often, I seem to have more or less figured out that mythical "right amount" of wick... but it's still an art, and can easily go wrong -- to me, it's worth all the aggravation, because the vape is so excellent -- and also, they don't sell kayfun coils in blister packs. :D Dang it. :D

Isn't that the truth. Plus look how much time, effort, and money we save by not using vg. My car windows stay pretty clean.

Yeah, when I read all these posts about those filmy car windows, I can't figure out what they're talking about -- or about getting "white out" in front of their faces when vaping while driving... that's sure never happened to me; my vapor is gone in seconds, and never was thick enough to impede my vision. Silly cloud chasers. :D I have to say, even if I WAS a cloud chaser, I'd definitely modify that behavior for vaping while driving.
