We don't all want jewelry, but we also don't want anything that says "here honey, something to make it easier for you to cook and clean for me." :glare: You should both be using house stuff (blenders, vacuum cleaners, ...), so no fair putting a bow on house stuff and calling it a gift! :grr: And don't you guys usually buy your own stuff (shop tools, lawn mowers, new mods) then frantically hide the credit card bill?

Just messing with you, Rich!

Thanks for messin' with me Cindy. :p But you state exactly what I was questioning. The "average" guy doesn't cook or clean and the "average" woman does. So her "tool" for doing that job is pots and pans (and sometimes, she buys her own tools too). ;) The woman then asks the man to build her a new cupboard (garden trellis, etc.) and he uses his "tools" to make her what she wants. {sometimes these roles are reversed - I have, honestly, known men who do not know what a drill is, but are excellent cooks and Lannie used to wrench her own race car} So, if tools are "typically" sexualyl-oriented, why is the man's tool "giftable" but the woman's is not?

I'm usually happy with some sort of tool that applies to my general activities... such as anything vaping-related, or computer-related. :D For mother's valentines day, he bought me some new computer speakers which I DESPERATELY needed; when we got our state income tax refund in march, he bought me a new computer and called it my b-day present (which isn't till May, but it was $600, so I waddn complainin ;))(for mother's day he bought me a portable USB CD/DVD player for my new laptap)

I suspect Lannie and I would get along great with you and your hubby... but then we usually get along with everyone, regardless of how weird they are (or we are). :pervy:

Because the "average" man uses his tools because it's fun to tinker (and some guys should NOT be tinkering :p ) and the "average" woman cooks and cleans because she has to. ;)

This is exactly the sort of quandary we've resolved by going shopping together -- also for the bigger, costlier items, we make plans in advance for those purchases, when those tax refunds roll in -- last year, he got a motherlode of yard tools (electric lawnmower, electric chainsaw, electric weedeater), and we had to replace a $300 sliding-glass-door glass panel that got busted when his old lawnmower which had no "guard" flung a rock into it. That's why I got scheduled in for the computer (which I needed desperately!!) when we got this year's state refund; the fed refund bought a new set of Yokohama tires for the truck -- $700! Yeah we both about fainted, but we don't buy cheap when we buy tires, we want them to LAST.

For the smaller stuff, his coins and my vape gear, he "plays" with his catalogs, I browse endlessly online... we consult and make arrangements to buy whatever each of us wants/needs, based on paychecks and all the bills and everything. That's why I don't really get these people who say they "hide" bills from their spouse... that's just crazy! We share, because that's what married people do, right? :D

We're so weird, we're both pretty much hermits... but it suits us. :)

I am gonna miss Todd he is taking his leave of doing video reviews.

Yes, It is sad but Todd is in the UK and very soon in Europe it will be illegal to advertise or even say anything about vaping like it is illegal to advertise tobacco products or other more questionable substances. So reviews of anything vape related coming out of Europe have their days numbered.

If your Salmon are anything like the ones in the Pacific northwest of the US and Canada they are VERY tasty.

I did do some salmon fishing in Canada - boy that was the most wonderful experience of my life! Yes, North Pacific salmon is tasty but nothing beats the thrill of playing in a whopping large salmon. :)

Shhhh, don't tell my hubby that! I have the table saw and air compressor and power tools...he has trouble with a battery-operated screwdriver!

Ha! Ha1 Same here. I always single-handedly did all the decorating in our house when I still could. Now that I am old and arthritic we pay someone else to do it. :)

The woman then asks the man to build her a new cupboard (garden trellis, etc.) and he uses his "tools" to make her what she wants.

This reminds me of the joke - you only need to tell a man to do a job once, you don't have to repeat it every six months. :D

I have always wondered why, on birthdays or Xmas (or any other occasion where you choose to gift each other), that the "average" couple... well, it always seems to be OK when the woman buys the man a tool as a gift, but if you get her a tool (e.g., a new blender, vacuum cleaner), there is a hissy fit? This might not apply to those ladies who use the traditional shop tools, but why will the average man be happy with a new lawn mower, but the woman demands jewelry? Are not her tools (whatever they might be) equal to his tools? I mean, if she wants something that she "wants but doesn't need," shouldn't the man's gift have the same status? Buy him a new box mod (which he does not need - see, I managed to get this back on tootle puffing topic :) ) instead of a box of drill bits. Lannie, on the other hand, wants a 'Cuda with a 440 six pack... or something else MoPar.
Jewelry is also considered a womanly tool... as well as clothes!

A question for Tootle Puffers using TC.

Let's first describe me as a vaper. I like to tootle puff mostly, vape like I used to smoke - short mindless puffs in quick succession. I dislike hot vaping. My Kanthal coils usually range from 1.4 to 2 ohms. I keep my regulated mods on 3.9 to 4.2 volts and go with whatever wattage that gives me on whatever coil I am using. Usually it is closer to 3.9 volts and very rarely above 4. My airflow is usually half open, particularly on my Lemo II. If I have a particularly good and creamy juice loaded I might take the occasional full air flow long puff and enjoy a bit of cloud. But that is a conscious and deliberate kind of vape that depends on a particular mood and doesn't happen very often.

Now I have been thinking of getting the iStick 40 TC. I want something that is cheap and cheerful. The mAh on it is rather modest but then I can go almost a full day on my iStick 20 which has even lower mAh. I want something that i can fully wrap my hand around, with no square edges. 40 watts on my Kanthal coils is way above my needs since I hardly ever go beyond 20 watts even on my iStick 50 - so that does not come into the equation at all.

What I would like to ask is whether I can go on vaping like I do using TC. I have 200ft of 29AWG nickel 200 which I bought in error but from Steam Engine it looks like I would have to go pretty low ohms using that within a reasonable number of wraps. Would Titanium be a better option or doesn't that make any difference at all in TC. I would very much appreciate your input.

Please make your replies apply to me - telling me to get a better, more expensive mod (I buy only from Fasttech) or questioning why I should want TC in the first place would not be addressing my question. :)

Thanks in advance.

PS: If you know of anything that is comparable in size and same kind of ballpark as for price but with interchangeable batteries I would be game too.

Brilliant. I love salmon fishing.

It is the most exhilarating experience. Sadly I only did it once in my life. I have owned boats but there are no salmon in our Mediterranean waters. The closest we come to that kind of trolling and getting a big one is fishing for mahi mahi in autumn. But I have now sold my boats and haven't been fishing for quite a while. Following my heart surgery my life changed a lot - but the memories are good. :)

So, see? Not too wise after all. If my dad were still alive, he'd use his favorite line on me here, dramatically rolling his eyes: "My genius kid... You buy 'em books, and buy 'em books, and all they do is chew the covers." Yup, dad, I was chewin' the cover again! ROFLMAO!
My dads line is "you buy 'em books, send 'em to school and they eat the books! Silly kids..." lol

Glad you got it figured out sweetie!

There is something quite special about using something we made
I wish I had the talent...

Think I will order me a 510 connector and make one of these.

STEAM PUNK!
think I will use phillister head socket screws though. Aside from the 510 connector I have all the parts. Copper tube, compression rings brass strips, etc.
Might even nickel electroplate it. simple to do.

thank you for sharing this! I may have to look at a change in my gear!!

IMO the best gift is one that has absolutely NO redeeming value.

ie: sent my wife flowers for her birthday ..... with a sympathy card. (gave her a funeral urn too)

Oh, and I made this one about 4 years ago. Cost $2.20 to make.

Well, gang, I be back. What? You didn't notice I was gone? Sigh...

Not that is really counts but I noticed...

I must be a total freak...for Christmas this last year I got a new vacuum (an upgrade to the one I already had), tool box for my truck (with replacement tools for the ones my boys had "borrowed" and never got back-hubby hates me borrowing his) and two "high end" juices...and it was the BEST Christmas gifts I could have asked for. Did I NEED any of it? nope! Did I WANT? you bet

And for the record for his birthday last month hubby got a new box and an unregulated "just because"
o and I wasn't with him so I had a few bottles of his favorite store bought juice shipped to him since he couldn't get it in texas lol

ie: sent my wife flowers for her birthday ..... with a sympathy card. (gave her a funeral urn too)
Hubby mine would do this kind of thing...but I would retaliate with an actual binkie as his gift since he is a couple years younger than me!
