Here's a question, I was going to ask in the wompers' thread, but since we're on the TC subject... I seem to be getting a lot less vapor this morning, which is why I turned it up to 400F -- and it's not even close to empty, so that's not it. Could it be that I need to clean or replace the coil this quickly? My juice is an extreme gunker.

Could be, that gunk is a pretty good insulator. Keeps the heat in the wire

As mentioned, you surely can continue vaping your style with tc, with a side benefit of when you do decide to take that occasional lung hit described..... The mod adjusts and regulates, so the temp will be the same as always.
The tc 40 istick has been reported as very inaccurate with listed temp...on the plus side it's I believe cooler then set temp. I don't think it has a ti mode.
You CAN use Ti wire on a ni only mod...it will still work, but temps will be off, running hotter then set temp by 80-100 degrees, so if you like 400 degrees F., you will need to set the mod between 300-320 degrees to match, the lowest setting of 200 will be closer to 300. There is another option for small comfortable tc mod

Ha! Ha! - you should have seen me clean out that fish and "butchering" it ready for freezing down when we go back to my friend's house. I've been known to bite a fish's head to take it out of it's misery once I pulled it in.

Here's the thing: I'll never be anything but a tootle puffer, thanks to my stupid asthma, just like I'll never run a marathon. But I LOOOOOOOOOVE high-tech stuff, I mean I just LERVE it -- once I ascertained that I could still continue my tootling ways with a TC mod, well I just had to have one.

And I like to rebuild coils; it's great to find, at this advanced age, that I can actually learn a new thing, and even do it well -- given my love of hi-tech goodies and the fact that I actually like the techier aspects, I figure that edges me into the womper camp -- but still a tootler -- hence my new "tootle-wompin" title.

Interested in a little experiment? Try a 5 pack of G5-H2's and tell me if you notice the flavor is superior to the T3S's. Was just posting on Mod Wompers how I noticed that when I was Ego style vaping.

Yeah - titanium is a little more forgiving in that sense. At 28AWG titanium you can get 0.8 ohms doing 14 wraps round a 2.5mm bit... that's according to Steam Engine of course as I wouldn't have a clue.

I think the OK ranges are different for TC wire. For nickel, I see ±0.15 a lot; for titanium, I see ±0.36 a lot. So maybe it's OK to not have to do so many wraps. Yes, you're subohming, but not in the same sense as you would with Kanthal....not that I'm there yet.

Reminds me of a time The missus and me went fishing with a buddy on his boat and we had around 70 blue cats that averaged 2 lbs. Wehn we got home the missus told me she is gonna go take a bath and for me to split the fish with my buddy and go ahead and clean them. As soon as she walked off I looked at him and told him to take them all lol

The missus was upset to say the least and she hit the roof when I asked her whats for dinner

You are not using 40W. You are getting 40W of heat by passing a number if ampers through the wire.

Amps is the volume of energy that moves through a circuit in a given time.

Watt is a measurement of work accomplished. In our case heat produced by a wire

I learned ohm's law taking my first electronics course put out by the Navy using vacuum tubes before solid state electronics even came on the scene. The amount of work used in a circuit is measured in watts.
