...but when someone else walked into the shop one day, he covered his ears and had to yell at me to get my attention.

Sometimes even when he's NOT using power tools! Just kidding, it's not that bad, but when he IS using power tools, it's a scary thing to try to get his attention. He gets so focused on what he's doing (mostly so as not to cut off a finger), he can't see me coming in the shop, and he can't hear me unless I get right up close and yell, or touch his arm, and then he startles so bad, I'm always worried he's gonna chop a finger off ANYWAY. So it has to be really important (to me, anyway) for me to go in the shop and try to say something to him.

Hey, how long does it take this X6 to charge, anyway? Any ideas? It's been on the charger for 2.5 hours so far... I know it'll take longer than my baby 650s (the X6 is 1300), but I kinda wanted to try my new purple binkie TODAY if possible! LOL! If it's gonna take twice as long, then it should be done any time now.

Off to stir my cheese curds! Thanks for the help on the weird tank, Chopdoc! I don't know if I'll ever use it because the "coil assembly" is completely foreign to me, but I guess it's good to have a spare, and know how to fill it! ;) The Protank was EASY!

I have one that's about 15 years old that seldom gets used because I am too lazy to change (or resharpen) the blades. That thing is also part of my hearing problem. It didn't sound that loud to me, but when someone else walked into the shop one day, he covered his ears and had to yell at me to get my attention. I rarely work sheet metal anymore, and if I have to (the barns, shop, and garage are all metal), I use one of the dozen ball peens and a hunk of hardwood beam to bend it over. Do all my metal cutting with abrasive discs or saber saws (whatever is cheap and quick). My band saw is strictly for wood, as are the jig saws, table saw, and chop saw. The little drill press gets used for darn near everything! I occasionally sit out there wondering if the shop burned down, how much would it cost to replace all this crap (not that all of it would need to be replaced) because these tools have accumulated over a lifetime. What was a $10 tool 40 years ago is in the hundreds today. Sigh...

Years ago this guy gave me a bunch of red oak and hickory rough hewn planks. 10 to 16' long, 12 to 15" wide and 1 to 2" thick. Couple dozen and mostly red oak. I Bought a Dewalt planer for them and built us an Oak head board. It came out very nice and we still use it to this day. Extremely heavy but nice. The missus sister asked me if I could make her one and it wasnt a problem, had a lot of fun making the first one. Then I asked her where she wanted the hand cuff holes. I swear, I do not know why to this day that the good lord cursed me with humorless women in my life!

If memory serves me, it takes a long time to charge them X6 batteries. Way longer than Ego's.

Rebuilding them is nothing. Its just like rebuilding a CE4. Leave the wick long enough to touch the bottom of the tank and the coil legs are long too.

But now I have two hearing aids... However, they came with a remote control (wireless) so I can adjust the volume (R,L,both) and just totally disable them entirely (the audiologist suggested this for when I am in the shop)... which might get used more often than one might think.

You probably had the same one I have (Dewalt). I have made a couple bookcase headboards (many many years ago), usually out of pine, but stained with Golden Oak with a satin polyurethane finish and they are still in use and still look great.

Yes, Robert, Lannie is Wifey to Fuzzy (AKA Rich) and we have been married for, oh, 5,000 years or so...
I actually figured that out a couple of days ago. I am a bit slow on some things ;)
Do we have any other couples on here that both post?

We seem to be very similar, Robert. I haven't done metal machining since, oh, about 1976, but my wood lathe occasionally gets turned on. :) My welding is restricted to what a small MAPP unit does (plus brazing and soldering). Don't own an arc/mig/full-sized gas torch, though I often wish I had that stuff. I can dance, however, but Lannie doesn't, so it never happens (like we could even find a place to do such in the middle of Nowhere, South Dakota).
Nope, that requires a trip to Rapid City :p

They probably dance at some of the biker bars in Sturgis (75miles instead of 105) but not sure I want to ask someone else's biker babe to do the western swing in that environment (remember, Wifey doesn't do dancing).

Lowes... You sir must have the patience of a zen monk.
I actually need some more potent drugs.....
This is my first foray into direct public contact and I am beginning to hate humans in general.
ECF folks helps me to not go totally in that direction. Mostly good folks here.

Oh, STOP. It only FEELS like 5,000 years because we've KNOWN each other that long! LOL! We've only been married for 17 years. Yikes, it's been 17 YEARS? :w00t:

OK, still waiting on that X6... I did put the full sized Protank on my EVOD battery (it came with an adapter ring) and all I can say is "I NEED TO GIT ME SOME MORE OF THESE." I love the way this performs and it holds what appears to be a full day's worth of juice! For me, anyway.

Shhhhh... don't tell Rich! ;)

WaHECK, I didn't study! I didn't know there was gonna be a test!

I think it's a Protank 2. It uses the same coils as my EVOD and mini Protank 2 tanks, the single coil, 2.5 ohm ones. But yes, a 510 connector, and a cute little step-down ring so the edge doesn't just hang out in space over the sides of the battery. Of course, it fits flush on the X6 without the adapter, because it's bigger around... I'd love to put it on there, if the dang thing would ever CHARGE! :grr: Maybe I should go check it again.

Must be the protank 2, the 3 had a dual coil. Looks pretty much the same but has dual coils and has just a bit taller coil chamber than the single coil.
