I was so excited to get my order from SI today. A manual 1300 in rainbow and 12 of the new gem tips. It quickly turned into a nightmare. The battery color only processed on 2 sides. Leaving the 3rd side silver with a sliver of yellow at the bottom. It looks like it was processed sideways. But even doing that wouldn't leave it silver. Matches the silver cone perfectly.

So then I decide to try out the gem tips. Put the first one in and the stone popped out. The next one was setting almost sideways in the setting. The third has a dark line of dried glue running through it that creates a black line. Then more came out of the settings. I finally found 1 out of 12 that I could use. And I was grateful for that since I had a battery that the original clear gem had fallen out.

I know one thing. I'm not going to be at the front of the line to try the new items anymore.
Maybe a little more training for the shipping dept to do quick visual checks before packing, Imagine?

I always feel so bad when Bukket has problems with her stuff, cuz she lives all the way up in Alaska! OUCH!

I am really sorry if you let CS know they can refund you.

Thank you. I've already put in a ticket to exchange the battery and told them about the gems. I was so looking forward to colored gems :(

First you discontinue my favorite item..the clearo..then the gems end up being bad. Imagine, why couldn't SI keep carrying the current clearo along with the new items? So much time and effort was put into getting them just right and then all of a sudden they are discontinued. Being a girl the first thing I go for is the look. Then I check to see if it works. The clearo passed both tests for me. I spent Monday shopping for alternatives so I'm set for a while. Ok, last time I'll mention them. I know they are gone.

Thank you, Cindycated. I appreciate it. At the moment I am on vacation visiting my best friend in Louisiana so I had everything shipped here. But the post office doesn't charge more to ship to Alaska and it arrives pretty fast. It's only companies that won't use USPS that I can't shop from. The minimum charge from them is $30! I haven't come across an ecig vendor yet that does this, thankfully. There are a lot of companies that do though. Two that come to mind are Domestications and New Egg.

philly, you'll find that SI actually does have outstanding customer support. I wish more of the companies I buy from were half as good as SI. Imagine and the rest of their staff do whatever they can to fix any problem that crops up. maybe not instantly, but really very quickly. In the end, I'm sure you'll be satisfied and happy that you deal with them, I know I am and I'm a contankerous old fuddy duddy pain in the a.....

Great, I just ordered some from another site.

Just wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone in the thread who had kind words and Imagine for helping me out.
We try to do what we can here for each other . I know words are not always the solution, but when used for encouragement they can't hurt. Myself, and I'm pretty sure everyone else here means what they say. You are more than welcome and I look forward to future conversations.

Going back to the battery charging question, yet again (I know you're all sick of this one!). I did ask CS and the response I got was quite interesting. The PCC charger shuts itself down completely once the battery reaches full charge. The USB adapter does not shut down and does maintain a "trickle" charge level. I did a little physical research and found that it seems to be around a 10ma rate of trickle for all you electronics fans. Given that a lithium based battery should not be trickle charged, according to Battery University, it would seem removing them from the charger once the LED goes off is the best policy staisfying any fire hazard concerns as well. I'm going to be looking around for a timer to use on the surge strip that has my array of chargers on it, just to automate and make sure things turn off completely. Maybe I'll work on a USB/808 adapter with a current sensing switch to completely automate charging for each battery rather than the surge strip.
