One thing I don't really like on the KM3 is the thin lip on the bottom section that goes over the tank section when they're screwed together. I dropped the bottom section into our stainless kitchen sink while I was washing it out and found that that lip was bent inwards. The drop was maybe 15" or so. I saw that it happen to an authentic too. It was easy to bend outwards again into usable shape, so it could have been worse.

Finally figured out a coil/wick that's working great!

Not so much, yesterday: Had 28g, 2.5mm, 1.5Ω in both the plus and the regular. Was getting dry hits (followed by the telltale long death fizz) on the plus, and was not seeing air bubbles. The regular V3 had muted flavor, but no dry hits.

Today I put new 28g, 2mm 1.5-1.6 Ω coils in both. When removing the old wicks I noticed that there was a lot more wick in the wells than I thought, even though I thought I had just inserted enough to touch bottom, But cotton does expand. Today I cut the wick ends shorter, frizzed them out with a hat pin, and very gingerly inserted just enough to touch bottom, and not at all stuffed or crammed.

The result? Both tanks are producing beautiful, full-bodied flavor, no dry hits and regular air bubbles! I'm a slow learner, but after a lot of "What if I try this" and "What if I try that" I believe I've finally found the build and wicking method that works great for me!
Thinning out the wicks like that also works well for me on a 2.5 mm contact coil. No dry hits - at least with 50/50 liquids.

That sucks but at least you were able to bend it back. It is really thin there.

Yeah, lucky. Something similar also happened to my Lemo Drop - although that took a drop to the floor, not just the sink. I was able to bend that back too, but you still see the kink. Works fine, though. :)

I have used 2.5 and 2.25mm coils with thinned tails--no problems. I just give my tails a little haircut--top, bottom and sides. No more than 25-30% of the total width of the wick and then tuck them in gently.

Honestly, I don't know- the improvement probably had more to do with the wicking, but 2mm is what I've always used in my KFL.
In all my other Kayfuns I always used 3mm coils. In these minis its been 2.5 but after using my Ekowool I want to try 2mm with the Japanese cottons. So far I have not had a bad vape with these.

Heh. Put the Infinite version of the Kayfun v4 in my FT cart. Not really looking and still not sure I'll pull the trigger, but I'm thinking that even if I still prefer the KM3, I'd still have something solid to throw at any FDA thugs who might come to confiscate my stuff. ;)

We'll see. 'Nuff toys for the moment. :)

I can only vouch for the Tobeco clones. I have two that are flawless. So don't blame me...
You mean I CAN blame you if I get a Tobeco? ;)

No worries. I've never blamed anyone but myself for what I buy. The Tobeco clones are not that easy to come by anymore, come pretty "bare bones" and are not that cheap either. Add shipping and for me it nets out to "not that interested". Like you said before though, if I found it super cheap somewhere...

I'm kinda lukewarm on the whole idea anyway, if you know what I mean. Not super-excited like I was when ordering my 1st KM3. :)

I have 8 Tobeco clones. 3 still NIB, 5 in rotation and I gave one to my sister (along with a KM3 and 2 DNA40 mods). I was thinking of selling off the 3 new ones but I think I'll keep them now that the FDA decided to .... in and do stupid stuff.
