I've been running 1 of my tobecos without the air screw, no leaking at all, fwiw.
Let me clarify...
Whenever I rewick/recoil, I always see about 1 drop of juice sitting in #8. I've had issues where screw #9 keeps loosening, resulting in weeping below the air control ring, leaking out the 510 pin, or wobbly, especially with the JC closed during a refill. Often, all 3 symptoms.

With screw 9 nice & tight, all works like it should & no leaking or weeping. Mine keeps loosening occasionally, so I check & tighten it with each rewick every few days.

Check #9.

This might be the issue with my HCigar K4 as I loosened the air flow screw and it only leaks when sideways.
I thought I just has a grace period of a few days wehre it was perfect before the oring sealing the deck wore down and started letting juice in (killing my faith in the k4 being pocket friendly)

Has anyone has solved leaking when placed on its side?

So my FT V4 Black infinite Clone showed up today :) By far the best one yet :) the Fit and Finnish, the threads are all way better than the FT Version A or My Tobeco
It was nice and clean and I have to mention the threading again really nice and smooth :) Not Bad for 27.77 :)
All 3 of my other one's are performing great so far no leaks no problems :) IMO Best RTA on the market Now :)

Had a minor leak on my #2 FT type A, thought it was 16 but it turned out to be #6. The seepage was coming out between 5 and 26, if I hadn't left it sitting for awhile I would have misdiagnosed it.
Here is the probable reason why it leaked, been posted before. SM calls for a 17 x 1 mm o-ring, FT's supplier chose to put on a 10 x 1 mm.
From left to right, 10 x 1, 17 x 1, 18 x 1. The 18 would have worked but would be heck to pay to get it back apart.

The 10 x 1 on left is the one I removed from it.
Looks like an advanced case of use what you got if you don't got what you need. :)

AMod uses the red oring on their blacks

The FT V4 I have has the red o-rings. I haven't fooled with it enough to see if it's going to leak. All the extra rings they gave me are red as well.

Sent with no malice and not a whole lot of forethought from my new Galaxy Tab 4. Thanks Santa!

Wow. Learned something today, & inadvertently fixed my issue above.....

My black tobeco arrived, quickly gave it a bubble bath, coil, wick & juice. While putting all together... HEY! What's this white seal go to ??!!

Turns out it's seal ring #7. My other tobeco, mentioned above, DOES NOT have this seal!

No wonder I have to torque down screw #9! This is the same tobeco that also came missing oring #31 - to the glass ring.

Outta all the orings I ordered, no 13x1 for Seal #7. Crap. Did order some 12x1.5 for oring #16, think I'll try that.

Now it makes me wonder about my first tobeco (have 3 now). That ones been flawless since day 1, still running the original orings too, so most likely there. Need 2 check tonight!

1) Removing the air adjust screw B13 on a Tobeco seems to have brought on leaking. Put it back in and it's fine again. Is this a known thing?

I had issues with leaking when laid on the side. Tightening my airflow screw to half the travel (falling out - snug) and it has solved the issue. I guess the airflow range is not the full travel of the screw.

I dont know how this has an effect on the device, but it works, gave me better throat hit and did not shrink the size of the cloud I get at 14w. If you get air hole seepage I would try this. Thanks for the advice!

A note on the noob move of not closing JC before filling.
The flooding will mean you need to remove the deck and rinse out section A.
I was hesitant to do this with all the problems with oring #16 and mine being fine.
But gotta clean up that flooded juice.

Built a few coils: all 28awg/JOC wick
2.4mm, 11 wrap, 2.0 ohms
3.0mm, 7 wrap, 1.5 ohms
2.4mm, 9 wrap, 1.6 ohms

Builds/flavor seem as subjective as juice preference.
From my noob point of view, and as a preference to cool/MTL/low wattage vape,
I prefer a smaller ID.
Seems a cooler/smoother/sweeter vape.
The larger ID seems a warmer/harsher/bolder vape.
From a 'science' point of view, it would seem the smaller ID and more wraps
gives more surface area across the wick, gets me more what I'm looking for.

Next wrap will try 2.0mm in a few days.
