You can't lung hit on the KV4, even with the s-kit:eek:

I lung hit my KV4's regularly. It's a tight draw, not like the exhaust pipe on your car, after 40 years of analogs, I know how to lung draw. With a proper coil and wick I'm satisfied. I use 28kanthal@7 wraps 3.0mm, cheap cotton, 50/50 vg/pg-5%diy flavor(anti gunk), 7.5 watts, it works fine. Unless you have emphysema, lung draw is fine for me. My normal lung draw obliterates my laptop screen, I have to crack a window while driving. LOL Love my KV4's.

LOL I also smoked for 40 years! But a lung hit at 7.5 watts? What I meant was that, for me, the airflow is too tight for a lung hit on the KV4 with S kit.

Greetings, I'm ready to get one and was wondering who has the one to get (shop/brand)? Preferably in the states. Subsonic seems a bit dodgy. Eciggity seems okay. I could be wrong.

Thanks

Edit: I just realized I asked this question a few pages back

Is elev8vape still recommended?

I finally got around to replacing the #16 o-ring with a 12mm x 1.5mm ring. I've had absolutely no leakage at all since doing that. I ordered the Viton set from Orings and More just because those were heat and acid resistant. It's actually nice to have a KV4 that doesn't leak in my pocket or put a film of juice on my hand while vaping. Since changing #16 with the larger ring it's been dry as a bone and vaping nicely.

Would you happen to have a link to these?

Thanks

Anyone want to sell a few of these orings? I don't want to buy 25...

I'm going to keep the pack I have just because I have a number of atomizers that they will work on.

Check out the link below for various orings in the same size. You can get packs for $2.90 up. Some packs have up to 50 orings for $2.90. I ordered the Viton just because they were heat and chemical resistant. After using two or three I'm satisfied they work in my K4 and K3 attys. They are a slightly thicker and a little wider than stock, so you don't have to stretch them so much to get them on.

There's shipping involved and it's about the same for 5 or 25. These things don't weigh anything.

Ya gotta love a nonvape related site where most of the product reviews are from Vapers. :D :thumb:

Funny! I didn't read the review until you mentioned it. I agree that these rings could be a little larger in diameter. The 12mm stretches much easier than the standard 11mm. 13mm x 1.5mm might be a good size to try. I think they size them down to make them stretch and stay put when you screw parts together. It's a must that the rings have a light coat of juice on them before assembly. I've flattened a small section when I forgot to prime them. They twist sometimes and throw a loop into the cracks that the outer casting then flattens out. It's a vacuum loss for sure when that happens.

Elev8vape is good. So is Eciggity. If you want a black version, there's a seller on eBay that sells it for $25 shipped.

The Tobeco version doesn't need the #16 o-ring changed.

I'm guessing the #16 is the pack I just ordered... Oh well, I'll have them for later. :)

Quick question...

Why does my KV4 pop loudly when I first pick it up to use it?

Background:

Have had this Tobeco KV4 for a while, I prefer RDA but I am revisiting it for the Wife. Built it with 3mm spaced 28 gauge kanthal @ 1.5 ohms powered by iStick 20w @ 13.5 watts. Wicked proper with rayon. Every time the Wife picks it up after not using it the thing will let off a violent pop, then it will be fine for a while. She does not like that. How can I stop it? Juice is 50/50 basic menthol DIY if it matters.
Mine will do the same thing after it sits long enough. BIG *pop*! I also use rayon. Never was a problem until I started using a 3mm ID coil- smaller coils didn't have a big pop like the 3mm does. At first I held the fire button w/o drawing on it until it popped, but I found taking a priming puff before firing it the first time helps a lot.

Curious I am, just keying off the name. But where do you get the Maui. My wife's favorite flavor was called Maui. Got it from a local vendor, who mixed some great flavors but he went out of business. Maybe it's time to try someone else's Maui.

After reading this I went downtown to look for a Vape Shop, but all I could find was some weird storefront where they wanted all sort of ID, and signing up, and this and that. By the time I got the Maui I was happy to be out of there. It came in a tiny little jar and I'm not sure it's what your wife was after.

On the o-rings I could never get anything to fit my Tobecos perfectly until I started using dental floss under the o-ring. That and gently working the o-ring under the lip with my fingernail as I tighten the assembly.

BUT, BUT I broke my first glass tank. And the plexi just doesn't look right somehow. And then it occurred to me that if I set it up for temp control with nickel, then I could use the metal "window", as it didn't matter if I couldn't see how little juice was left. So far so good, until I get a gorgeous tinted new glass window.
