I've been wanting someone to put out a standard sized (5ml) bell top for KFs for a long time. I wonder why it hasn't been done (other than the $$$ glass one that was around).

Well the extremely large evap. chamber of the K4, compared with previous designs, is taking up all the volume for juice so that would mean making a pretty large bell to hold 5 ml of juice I reckon.
Indeed, it seems that everything is going in the other direction..Facebook

Wonder how long it will be before squonking mini tanks hit the market place?

Well, my gurgling nightmare continues.. And I can't understand why. The gurgling issue is due to the condensation created in the center pin, which leaves liquid in the air flow holes. Both my tobeco and my EHPRO have this issue. In both in using 1.4Ohm @ 11W. I've tried raising the coil in every possible way, the last one looked ridiculous because how high it was..

The gurgling starts after a day of use , more or less..

My doubt is : with so many people here with tobeco and ehpro clones and saying that they work flawlessly, why my both clones have this problem? I just can't understand why mine have condensation on the center pin and yours not!

Can someone (who kayfun don't gurgle) leave here a pic of his books please?

Post some pics of your builds. Show all angles of the wick.

This is how I setup w/ rayon. The coil is 8 wraps of 28g Kanthal w/ a 2.5mm id for 1.5Ωs.

Enough rayon through the coil to be quite snug. Then snip 1/2 the amount from the tails.

I soak it all w/ juice and use a needle to push the wick into the corner of the build deck.

IMG_3268_zpsazirhysx.jpg

I cut the wick length right where the needle left an indentation in the wick. Then tuck the wick into the corner of the deck not covering the juice channels.

Screw it all together and done.

I have the Infinite version and don't have a gurgle issue.

I use Rayon and wick the same as MikeE3, except I use 26g and leave thicker tails. The S kit is installed in mine so there is no AFC screw and I vape at 20-25W depending on the juice.

Mine is similar to yours. Exactly, if I take the air flow screw off, there is no gurgling.. The problem is that the condensation created in the center pin goes down and accumulate on the top of the screw, where are the air flow channels, blocking them and causing the gurgling.

Just a possibility...
Some vapers (like my wife) exhale just a tiny bit at the end of their inhale before removing the atty from their mouth. You can see just a tiny bit of vapor come out of the air intakes at the end of their inhale. This will cause condensation in the atty.

At the end of my toke I continue to inhale after releasing the power button and as I remove the atty from my mouth, just for a half a second or so, to clear the vapor from the atty.

This doesn't seem like enough wick. Does this build work for you?

It's been working very well for many month's on multiple KFV4s (both Tobeco and Svoe brands). I build the same way for the multiple KFL-Lites my wife has in rotation (EHPro & Svoe brands). And they work well too.

Once in a while (by mistake) I even cut off more of the tails and what's left is even thinner than my pictures and they work fine too. Seems from my experience it doesn't take a lot of tail for rayon wick well. Our juice is 50/50 PG/VG. YMMV

Try it w/o cutting half the tail. I've noticed that if there's too little wick, it doesn't work well. Same as if there's too much. Rayon collapses with liquid unlike cotton that swells. I use almost twice that much for my wicks and cut so the ends touch the juice deck.

Here they are:

The red one is the tobeco clone, the other one is from ehpro. Both build have cotton enough cover the base, they are always full of liquid. If I open them, take out the airflow screw and clean the center pin the gurgle disappear.. I did that yesterday, and after a full day (now) they both are gurgling..

I keep my coil closer(lower) to the air hole. Not sure if that matters for your issue. The one on the left looks really wet too. I've never seen mine that wet. Maybe use less cotton??? What kind of vapor are you? Do you like a loose draw or a tight one. If it is tight, you may be sucking too much liquid in it.

I also thinked in that possibility, and put a nice quantity of cotton. Stills the same. Also, the coil is saturated but you can't see excess of liquid, so I think that probably it's alright, no? And probably if the problem was excess of liquid, it would have liquid in center pin right? The fluid that is on the center pin is transparent, really looks like condensation.. I just don't get it how it is get in there, I never exhale when I vape, only inhale..

Good 'observation' ricks ... the one wick looked really saturated. I thought maybe he just wicked it and put a few drops of liquid right on the wick. If that's from 'vaping' it does look over saturated.

@danielpm -- are those pictures after you've been vaping w/ the build for awhile? Where is you mod set watts and/or volts for vaping? How do you have the air screw adjusted 'tight draw'? 'loose draw'?

Yup, i disassembled the thanks after I came from work.. Didn't put liquid or something in the coils, I was just use them like you see in the pictures. I'm using 1.45Ohm @ 10W.

Do you think that I have few cotton? Should I put more? Its just I put so much already! I will rewick one and put more cotton and see how it performs during tomorrow!

How about an experiment before reworking. Up you watts to around 12 watts and see if it helps w/ the gurgling. As it is, do you hear a lot of popping like the coil is too wet?

Also - hows you're airflow, if set on the tight side you could be forcing too much juice to the wick.

Pushing the watts didn't help, already tried that.. Is tight, but not THAT tight that would push to much liquid.. My kayfun lite and my squape are set to be tighter, for example..
