What's your coil diameter?
I can't find my sweet-spot on this tank, flavour seems muted.

R

2.5 mm inside diameter. Raised up a bit proud. Throat hit is good.

That's about what I do, 1.2 Ohms, 2.5mm ID, 1mm raised. Wicked with rayon or bacon v2. I dunno..

R

Keep after it and you will find it. Took me a long time to get it with the 4.

I use a 2.25mm drill bit. Raised very slightly from the airhole. 8 wraps 28guage gives me 1.4 ohms. Perfect anywhere between 11 and 12 watts.
Hmmmm- Guess I'll have to try 2.5mm. Currently using 2.0mm, 1.5 - 1.6Ω, same as in my KM3. Flavor is good, but better in the KM3. K5 does have a larger air hole, so a larger diameter makes sense.

Here's another...

I think it looks best on the V5.

You my friend are the K5 "DRIP TIP KING"!

However, I suggest to ALL, that post photos, to tell us mere surfs, what things are named, maybe where you got these "things", in case fellow members would like such a thing.

I have far too many drip tips myself that I dislike, but your last one looks NICE!

The tip came from inTaste, Made by Alliance Tech.

The same people who make the 19-22 beauty ring for the KayFun Mini V3.

Cheers, Jim

Gave my v5 its first bath/re-wick/flavor change today. This is truly the easiest (for me) to work with KF to date. I went from vaping Phillip Rocke Grand Reserve (80% VG dripping juice) to my 70% PG DIY Blueberry Menthol. I'm running a dual/parallel SS316 coil @ .47 ohms on a VT200 mod. This is my 1st truly successful TC build!

I've yet to experience any issues with leaking or dry hits. With the thicker juice, I ran the juice control at 2 - 2 1/4 turns open and brought it to work a few days where it sometimes sat in my hot vehicle for a few hours without leaking. I think I ran 3 or more tanks of the Phillip Rocke through but for me, it just seemed too sickly sweet for my tastes (kinda that way in a dripper as well).

My 70% PG DIY juice is wicking perfectly so far at 1 turn on the juice control and I've had no leaking at all, but it hasn't gone through any climate changes. One thing's for certain though, gotta cut the NIC in half (currently 12mg/ml) and reduce the menthol some lol....

Guys. Usually I alcohol bathe my new tanks. Do you think it's possible to use the v5 out of the box?

I know I probably shouldn't but I have used all my Kayfuns right out of the box. By the time I get them, I am so anxious to just use them I keep forgetting to give them a bath.

No bad tastes from them. No oily feeling or taste.

I did use the K5 right out of the box. I was more interested in building the coil and trying it out. It is waiting for the MTL kit (I did use a tank or two of liquid just giving it a shot) before putting into regular use.

5 wraps Kanthal
28 gauge
2.8mm coil
1.1 ohm
10 watts
Provari P3

Kogendoh cotton
70vg/30pg juice
1.5 turns open

MTL Kit option 2
Airflow set to 4

Muted flavor
Cotton is the same amount I'd use in a KFL

Thoughts?

Update: Tested again at 12 watts and 14 watts...no change.
Using a flavor I know very well, as its my best tester for new tanks.

Second update:
This device has become a let down, and I'm not even halfway through one tank.
I opened the tank, upside down, to access the deck. I reinstalled the tank, upside down, and threaded it closed. Once closed, I popped the drip tip off, and closed it again, to allow the air to escape.
Upon trying to open the juice flow, the tank separated from the chimney, flooding the deck and bringing an end to my evening (it's bed time anyway).
This is the BIGGEST design flaw in the Kayfun 5.
The Kayfun 4 had it done the right way.
The proper way.
Reverse threading for the juice flow.
But all the little cry-babies couldn't be bothered to take THREE SECONDS to learn that fact. They cried and complained so much, that SM decided to make the KF5 forward threading all around, thus ruining their juice flow control.
I'll stand by my words here. And I'll have this opinion of this tank until Steam Tuners releases a chimney with reverse threaded tank connection. Cuz if the tank threads onto the chimney with reverse threading, the juice flow won't affect the connection of the tank to the chimney.

Putting this thing away for the night.
At this moment, I'm not 100% sure I'll be keeping this tank.
Not a win tonight.

Jeez, Get Over It... And Figure it OUT!!!

They ain't gonna reverse thread it for you. PERIOD.

Tighten it (Tank Assembly) up before attaching it to the deck.

Hope this helps, Jim

Yeah, I'll bet that helps.

Corpse tirade in 3... 2... 1...

But Jim has a point. Lube up those o-rings and crank that tank assembly up tight. Lube those other o-rings with something other than just juice. I like food-grade silicone o-ring lube from my scuba gear repair days, but I guess vaseline from your weekend habits or lip balm from your tender corpse lips will do the trick.
