Yeap, I was having issues with weird resistances as well, and had only been tightening the 510 screw down.
Thumbs uP!!!Yeap, I was having issues with weird resistances as well, and had only been tightening the 510 screw down.
Thanks for bringing to mind the centre post too. I'd been on the KFL+ before moving onto the Prime and it didn't quite occur to me about the centre post/air conduit. Used a pair of needle nose pliers to tighten it down good and no more issues with resistance!
Other lessons along the way include using a larger 2.4mm contact coil. My previous default build was always a 1.8mm and that worked amazing in the KFL+.
The amount of cotton in the coils and tails are also the inverse compared to the KFL+. I found I needed more cotton both in the coils and the tails. Once I got past worrying about choking juice flow in the Prime and just pushed more cotton in, the flavour and quality of vape improved tremendously.
It's been a pretty fun learning curve with the Prime, and I sure am glad for the experiences shared in this thread.
Cheers all!
So after a month of loving my prime there are only two things (to avoid the word problem]
1.) Sometimes the top Is difficult to screw on after refilling. Perhaps they could re-design the threading on a Prime V2.
2.) I do miss painfully a spit-back protection. (like the GG Armed has).
Even with the extension in use I often get burning hot little drops spit onto my tongue. Especially with fresh cotton.
It is a little screw in the bottom of the chimney preventing those tiny drops being shot into your mouth.

This must definitely be something in your build or perhaps your juice because honestly I never ever get spit back from the prime. Maybe like above post mentioned, coil to high or not enough cotton thru coil....or just over wicking with too many turns on JC...can be a few things but it shouldn't really happen to the extent your mentioning. I have the armed and the first thing I did was remove that part....So after a month of loving my prime there are only two things (to avoid the word problem]

Question I wanna throw out there.....For whatever, the past few rewicks, I have issues with wicking. Thinking that I'm just doing a half .../lazy job/being in a rush. But it keeps happens. Possible that I got a bad o-ring somewhere. No leaky juice, but is it possible that I got a bummed o-ring screwing up with the vacuume pressure of the tank? Thoughts?
What exactly is happening?

Yes, wicking is critical in the Prime. I find it to be less forgiving than previous Kayfun models. As I was saying earlier, I have this tendency to cut my wicks shorter with each new wick. Then suddenly I get what you get...a dry hit (I use TC mode too). I know immediately what is wrong. Either too much wick or too little wick causes problems. I'm speaking in length and volume terms. But I think there is still many people who immediately think they are using too much wick when things go wrong. My view is in most cases it is the exact opposite. They are using too little wick.Just be vaping in TC. Wattage keeps dropping, less vapor. Open it up, and sure enough the wick is dry. More I open up the jfc the better. But even with 2 full turns, doesn't seem to be enough. I just rewicked it last night, and no issues. 1 1/2 turns, and wicking just fine. I'm thinking I was just rushing it. Kinda took my time last night.
Resistance and power?I have these little popping “explosions” in all my GG’s with their ready madeZirconium springs.
And, to be honest, I like them! They remind me on a cozy evening at the open fireplace in the living room [emoji854]
My wicks are tight, but still easily movable in the coil. The length fits into the little pockets, and then I pluck the shoulders a little fluffy with the Pointed tweezers.
My juice is 80% VG.
The wire reads Ka1 28ga 0.321mm (whatever that means). It’s what the guy in the shop sold me.
OK, I will try stainless steel next time.
