I’ve always been an advocate for ‘more cotton’ as opposed to less. But with regards volume; I assume you mean the amount through the coil? And how long are y’all trimming your wicks? To the length of the o-ring? Just above the o-ring? Or just below the o-ring?

Always interested in new techniques.

I cut a “standard” piece of Ko-Gen-Doh cotton into four strips.

Then I cut those strips in half.

That’s the “amount” of cotton I typically use.

Once I’ve got it rolled up and through the coil, I trim the wicks so that the tails just hit the deck.

In fact, that’s how I’ve wicked every Kayfun model I’ve owned.

Just to the oring myself , but it depends on ones coil height. I set my coil about 1.4 mm from air hole and just touching the start of the oring is perfect. It may seem slightly short, but once my tails are juiced, it settles down a smidge. Once my tails are placed in channel, I then nudge them slightly away from the outer edges and towards the middle, not a lot though, but just enough to where I think half my of thy tails are covering only half of the little hole (that's the way I envision it, but in reality the holes are probably all covered by wick).

Yes, volume to me is how thick the wick is in relationship to the coil diameter. I trim my wicks to barely touch the bottom. And I put some shoulders on the wick and push it as far away from the center as I can. Always seems to work for me.

What's the ID of your coils?

I have the same process with the cutting of cotton, and am on a 1.8mm ID coil.

My coils tend to be too large in diameter for most people’s liking.

Dual-wire twisted 28g Kanthal

5/6 wraps on a 2.8mm bit

Ends up around 0.5 ohms

I run this build at 25 watts on a Provape Radius

I run this build in every Kayfun I own, from KFL to KF4 to KFPrime...

Works like a champ!

(The KFLs have been drilled out -maybe- 0.2 above their stock airflow)

Well, to each his or her own.

I found that a 8.5 wrap, 1.8mm compressed coil worked amazing in the KFL+.

I got a decent amount of flavouring with the same coil in the Prime, but just popped a 6.5 wrap, 2.4mm spaced coil into the Prime this week and POW! Whole different experience and flavour profile.

And all this on only 10W. Tongue and throat can't take anything more than that.

I run 2.4mm coils as well (actually I think they actually measure 2.38, but use 26g. I do however like 6 to 7 wraps like you and just feel 6 to 7 is the perfect number of turns .

Bout time they did a black one, pity just bought 2 more already, and not sure I want to pay that much extra just to have it in black.
you can always paint it yourself, could not be worse than this :D

JK, but that's why i avoid buying the same gear twice since there's so much coming out all the time.
the one time i did buy 3 of the same tank was when Svoemesto announced they were stopping the production of the KFL+ and also when Provari closed their doors.

the Prime is a sure bet with it's ease of use and wide range of airflow which can satisfy many vapers,
i find it great with NET e-liquids,but not so much with the Menthol i'm used to vape in the KFL+,
i'm still quit curious about the Spica Pro which people seem to praise.
I bought the spica pro about 6 months back, used it for a month, then sold it. I did not enjoy it at all. First it was way to tight for my liking (probably equal to the prime on its tightest setting or close) and I just didn't like the operation of it. The jc was kind of weird and just didn't care for it. The drip tip was a little weird shaped and you couldn't really use a different one unless you didn't want the jc function. The tank was pretty heavy and too tall. The throat hit function didnt really work imo, that weird reduction of the chimney to intensify th, didnt do anything , at least imo, in fact, I thought the th was better without the reduction. Flavor imo was pretty good, but with all those other negatives, I just want vaping it. Sold pretty fast though
