This is not a PC problem since this is happening on all my PC's, iDevices, and my new PC at work (new as in post-forum update). When I respond in a thread, the screen refreshes me to the first post of the thread. What is that?

Please fix.

It's happening to everyone. I think most of the comments are in the "Back Online" thread.

As you performed this massive migration this week, I thought it might be useful to report observations.

When I post a reply in a thread, upon refresh after clicking the button, I first see the original Page 1 of the thread for a few seconds before it finally comes to rest on the last page at the just-published post.

Again, not a complaint, of course, just information in case it is useful to you.

And thank you! Good to see improvements coming in.

Merged these stray observations in with the others in the Back Online!! thread.

:wubs: But I have no intention to move to "FF" - be the problems everyone is expercing here on ECF are resolved or not with that browser . . . Really too much of a problem and PITA to have to constantly download and update all the "sub-programs" (?) I would need/want to use that browser . . . Just Satin' . . . ;)

BTW: Just started experiencing a new problem, sometimes when opening a thread it will show in the address line - but there is a blank page or a "404 not found" message . . . Only after I refresh (F5) the page does it show up . . . Again not every thread or page and not every time . . . Just thought you might want to know . . .

what are you talking about, uncle? :?: ff updates itself automatically just like ie ;)
believe me, i was an ie fan till not all that long ago - just ask roly :D - but i realized there were just too many shortcomings no matter how much i liked the layout ;)

Yep - As usual "You're" Correct - However, if you reread what I said "download and update all the "sub-programs" (?) I would need/want to use that browser . . ." When FF updates it does not included them as far as I know . . . AND - To be honest I did use FF for awhile and everytime it updated - things started going real screwy and kept crashing on "Me" . . . Just Sayin' . . .;)

A while back that used to happen, but now when it updates it checks for compatibility for your add-ons. It turns off the ones that aren't compatible. Much better now! :)

I don't know if this means anything, but I was looking at the console log in my browser and happened to notice an error when I was trying to use "Go to first new post".

I'm on a Mac in Chrome:

Uncaught ReferenceError: tapatalkDetect is not defined showthread.php?p=12427396:231
(anonymous function)

When I'm debugging my own code and I see an error like this, it a flag that my code might have failed at a spot that prevents a function from successful completion. I'm not a vBulletin coder, or a php coder, so I have no idea what the showthread.php function is doing, but given it seems to have a post number parameter, it just made me go hmmm.

Just posting an observation that might not actually mean anything. :)

Neat. What code do you write?

This looks like a jump to a Tapatalk function that is failing. It's very interesting that this is what could be causing the thread issues. Tapatalk/mobiquo is causing us a shedload of problems right now so we have turned off some of its functions by simply deleting some code blocks such as the membership registering function*. Looks as if thread calls are failing because Tapatalk functionality is integral once that plugin is enabled. This will be useful for our vB dev, Harry.

* Not that it makes much difference as old Tapatalk versions don't comply with any rules, they delight in sidestepping any logical process. Tapatalk is a steaming pile of ........... .

Same here using Chrome and Windows 7. I'm also not seeing the "view last unread post" option anywhere.

Edit: And after I submit my post it takes me to the top of the page I posted on.

Same setup, same problem.

After submitting a new post, I'm being beamed to the top of the page I'm on or to the top of page 1 of the thread.

Takes me some time to get back to my post... Am I doing anything wrong? or is still being worked on?

ETA: Like right now--I clicked submit; I was taken to Roly's OP, then to the top of this page--and it froze there. I had to scroll down to my post.

Not the end of the world, but an annoyance nevertheless.

The last post I read said it should be fixed by midweek. Also said Tapatalk is giving them fits.

Hahah--clicking on your link takes me to the top of page (post 21), not to the linked post....

This is fun!

And yeah--I read it. Fingers crossed.

Incorrect link posted, this will do it, takes you to post 35 http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...irst-new-post-not-working-4.html#post12465945

I know what is wrong with the links, have figured a PITA workaround to get me to the last Unread Post of a thread, but waiting for the fix next week, hopefully. The problem is the page number not being parsed into the link, Ie: "go-first-new-post-not-working-4.htmll#post12465945" (how it should be), it is just directing to "go-first-new-post-not-working.htmll#post12465945" (how it is directing), which defaults and takes you to the that page, not that post. Don't know the coding, just what it is doing.

I hope everyone remembers that tomorrow . . .

Of course the page number would differ from person to person too, depending on your settings for number of posts per page. For example, mine is set to 40 posts per page. If yours is set to 20, page numbers are different. Perhaps that's part of the confusion in the coding currently.

At any rate, hopefully this and other issues will be fixed in the next few days. :)
