As the title says, i present to you my first mod. 4 2500mAh NiMH's, 1 holder, 2 led's, 2 resistors, 1 DPDT switch, 1 push-button, 1 510 thread, 2 screws, few globs of solder, 1 piece of PCB, 1 box of some industrial switching thing from who knows what or where (thoroughly cleansed)

Took me 6 hours to build from start to finish, no particular schematics or anything followed (but inspired by the general idea of the puck.), including drilling, dremeling, sawing, hot-glueing, finding the soggy tools, and other assorted hilarity with a coffee break thrown in for good measure.

Its ugly as sin, but hey, it works, has a "use" switch and a master switch, and corresponding indicator led's.

In other news, this now holds up nicely to abuse and i've rewound the coils on some atty's i had. boy does the vanilla flavour get awesome on this. cotton pad wicks also probably helped there, but 3.4-ish Ohm helped too. with 2.6Ohm and fresh batteries i ended up with vapor way too hot for my tastes.

Anyone have a reliable way to measure such low resistances without getting into specialty ohmmeters?

A cheap multimeter will give you plenty of accuracy. As for the batteries, I haven't had sags even near 2V on my NiMH units. I use Energizer NiMH AAs, in 2300mAh and 1400mAh. They'll sag to about 3-ish volts at the end of their useful charge cycle. I get 1.5-2 days out of my 2300s and about a day out of the 1400s. I'm getting really spoiled by regulated mods because I get a good vape until the very end.

You'd think that, but i'm having a hard time getting stable readings with the cheapass digital ones. Managed to dig out the ye olde analog one for those measurements.

It turned out to be a bum set.

Thinking of getting this set up for regulated wattage as well. Need to rummage through the random IC box for stuff.

As for the unit itself, I really like it. The toggle switch and rubber bands are awesome.
Thank you :)

Why did you opt for a DPDT switch?
Old habit of disconnecting the power supply completely when i want it to be off.
