Btw, does anyone else actually smoke everything they extract first? I do, but then I was never tobacco addicted, so lighting up a bowl isn't a big danger for me. I like to compare the "real" experience to the vape. Just a taste, ya know.

I'm tempted too on many occasions, but it might be game over if I ever tried one! So I don't.

I'm tempted too. Having not been a pipe smoker I'm curious. But, with my nature I shouldn't even try.

I smoked a pipe on occasions. The word "bite" is relevant, as an unfiltered pipe will put a definite sting on your tongue and throat. I used to mix Admiral's Choice Cherry Cavendish and Vanilla Cavendish 50/50, then add a small slice of an apple into my tobacco pouch overnight to try to reduce the amount of bite I would get from smoking.
Trust me, Vaping extracted pipe tobaccos is infinitely smoother and much more enjoyable. Just my :2c:

The worst thing is walking into a Humidor Shop. Some of my first tobacco's I got, I made the mistake of walking in. All I wanted to do was sit down in the lounge and smoke. What a wonderful smell you get when entering. Needless to say I had to get out of there quick, and haven't been back! lol

Once in awhile I'll open a pouch of pipe tobacco, to extract, and have the urge to put it in my mouth, instead of the 8 oz. Mason jar, it smell so damn good! :pervy:

Merry Christmas DIY'ers. Thanks to this thread, I am enjoying some H&H Louisiana Red and some Orlik Golden Sliced for my Christmas Vape !
Merry Christmas to All !

Haven't tried the H&H LR but I know it comes up a lot here as winner. Do have the GS and I love it. 6 or 8 months ago I had mixed a 50/50 blend of 13%, 12mg/nic of the GS and American Spirit Organic together and had just put it away and forgot about over the summer. Found it a month or so ago and tried it. It was fantastic! Needless to say it's all gone now and I haven't mixed anymore up. I blew through it without stopping. I gotta get busy mixing for the long run. Right now enjoying a 3-3-3% blend of Solani Aged Burley Flake, Dunnhill Royal Yacht, Blending Izmir Ribbon. Love this stuff and it's almost gone too! lol

Hmmmm. You could do a mouth extraction. Please, let it steep in your mouth for 14 days at 37°C. Than swallow only the tobacco and do all the spit in pg or vg.

Try that with a dozen or so of your favorite tobaccos. Check back in six months or so to share your results with us, please....

I have tried my american spirti organic with 15% extract by hot ethanol extraction after 17 days today again. Its much better now and i like it. It has smokiness now. Its a little bit too sweet. It could be very good for mixing with a stronger tobacco.

I havent thought that i get such good results with this tobacco. Do you know similar rolling tobaccos ?

Went up to the grocery store to get the ground beef, onion and flour tortillas for the chili I'm making. Texas Trail Drive Chili Mix Stopped at a convenience store and picked up a pouch of American Spirit "Maroon" and Perique...expensive at that place.

Yesterday, going through some drawers, I found a cigar I'd bought 14-15 years ago. Good thing because I'd never have remembered what I smoked that long ago. Figured I get one that's a little more fresh.

I stopped at Specs on the way home and picked up a Rocky Patell Vintage '90 and this: La Gloria Cubana Serie R - PipesandCigars.com

I only like VooDoo Queen and Louisiana Red after they've aged for several months. First time I extracted them they almost got tossed but through an oversight they remained in the aging cabinet undiscovered for three months. Rediscovered, I decided to sample them before dumping and was amazed at the transformation/flavor. Much like cigars they seem to need serious aging before reaching their true potential.

Broke into my P&C order I got in a few days ago. The Blending Smyrna and Blending Toasted Burley were really fresh to be just bagged. Have gotten a few that seemed a little dried out, but were okay. Also broke open the La Brumeuse Semois - Shag Cut. Pretty much fits all the descriptions written about it. Earthy, Bold, Musty, Meal worms, and a distinct Cigar filler note. Getting past the cigar part of it will be a challenge. Can't really come to terms on cigars. I can vape them but not too long. Probably because it's hard to produce a good one. This thing came in a 3.5 oz package so I hope I can make the best of it. If not I'll give it to my brother. He'll smoke it!

You know, come to think of it, a few of the tobacco's I received from pipes and cigars this time seemed a little dry compared to the same ones ordered last time I used for extracting......

Has anyone worked with Latakia before? I am wondering what else it goes with besides Virginia. It's a smokey type tobacco best used in small quantities with other varieties.

Found this video on P&C. Pardon the corny music, but it shows how Latakia is processed in a warehouse filled with smoke from burning aromatic woods.

Others with blending experience can help you more but, since I'm a fan of English Style blends, most of what I have has it to some degree. Thanks for the video. I didn't know PC had them. Yep, the music was unfortunate but now I know how to pronounce Latakia.

Looking forward to possible mixing suggestions.
