There is no Jewish priesthood...there is now a "royal priesthood" according to the apostle Peter. As far "Jewish" people flocking there? People will do what they do. God forbade the real Jewish nation from marrying others outside. This is why lineage was so important. Very, very few people on this earth if any are true Jews. There are those who claim Jewish blood and there may be some in the bloodline no doubt but it is not pure. Traditions are hard to break and just because someone claims something does not make it so. A Jewish woman married to an American/Saudi/Syrian/Egyptian man does not produce a true Jewish child. In tradition maybe..in bloodline absolutely not.

Oh ok, I understand it now. :)

Wow, I just finished reading the whole chapter 5&6 that you typed out, and wow, that's chock full of good stuff right there! I've read these verses many times in my life, but I seem to forget them when the tough times come.

Imagine what the world would be like if everyone forgave everyone, everyone treated others like Jesus spelled out in chapter 5. There would be no crime, no wars, nothing. If everyone did these things, the world would be an awesome place to live.

I have a question about the how we pray part tho. I always try to thank God for certain things everyday, is this repetition kind of prayer that is wrong? I'm not totally clear on that.

Also, the part about worry and anxiety. I imagine this is a problem with alot of people, especially in these really troubled times. It's hard NOT to worry or be anxious when the bills keep coming in and you don't know how you're going to pay for them.

Is it actually a sin to worry or be anxious about these things?

The part of forgiveness is very powerful also. So easy to say, but can be so hard to do, especially if someone really hurt you and doesn't have remorse. I'm dealing with this with my mom right now, she is having a really hard time forgiving my father for all of the abuse she suffered for so many years at his hands. It's been 30 years since they divorced, and she is still struggling on how to forgive him in her heart. Her pain is still so raw, she feels so damaged, even after all these years. The wounds have not healed.

I suggested that she pray about this constantly, but it's just not getting through I'm afraid. What advise would you give to her? She is in her 70's now, and is constantly replaying these painful scenes from the past over and over again in her mind and reliving it again everyday and can't seem to get past it. She is suffering so much.

The part on materialism really hit home for me too, in the past that has been a stumbling block for me. Thankfully, it's not anymore. But it's always a good reminder to keep those things in check. Stylish furniture and a new car is nice, but you can't take it with you.

A strong foundation and relationship with God is more valuable then anything on earth. Satan is doing his work in this world convincing the young people that if they don't look a certain way, or dress a certain way, they have no value. Same for women, you have to look a certain way. And men have to have a fat bank account, beautiful home and car.

It's so sad, so shallow and meaningless, and yet the world chases after these things like they are all that matters.

Lisa,

great posts. What I have been taught is to forgive is more to help yourself, as well as the person you are giving forgiveness to. It allows the person who is forgiving another not to feel raw, bitter and destroyed. Whether or not the person you have forgiven knows of your forgiveness isn't important, what is important is that you know you have done so and can move forward without the anger and pain of being so hurt. Right or wrong I believe forgiveness is a gift God has given each of us to heal ourselves of these destructive emotions and/or feelings which block our path and drag us toward the realm of darkness. God wants us to feel happy and experience joy in our lives. Without the gift of forgiveness how would be ever be able to achieve those?

Thanks Kelly, I'm going to share this with my mom. It's such a touchy subject with her. :)

"7:3 And why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 7:4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye’, and behold, the log is in your own eye? 7:5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye."

I think these are my very favorite 3 verses in the Bible!!!:lol::lol: Jesus really knew how to get a point across perfectly!

"7:7 Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you.
7:8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it shall be opened."

This is the truth, I've seen it happen in my own life. You do have to keep on asking and the door will be open. I"ve been seeking my whole life and if had given up, I wouldn't have found Jesus. Being persistant, keep on asking, keep on seeking and the door was finally opened! Praise to God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

"7:15 Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves."

This is the New Age movement. It's so beautiful, it's so nice, everyone loves everyone, no arguments or disagreements, everythinng is great, wonderful, beautiful, love and light. But when you really look in deep, it's all a lie and deception and leads us so far away from God and salvation.

Amen... We are living in 'perilous' times.. the Enemy has all the 'traps' set.
