Where did the name Yeshua come from?
It comes from the Hebrew language but there is a bit of a controversy over it. Wiki does a pretty good job of explaining it at least in part. Check it out.

Ok, I'm here, where's the bible study teacher at?????
Question: Since mary and joseph were not yet married, why is divorce mentioned? I don't understand that.
And if Jesus was named Immanuel, why do we call Him Jesus?
As I understand at that time, Divorce was strictly forbidden, until death do you part was actually a literal thing. The only thing that could change that would be adultery, and even then you wouldn't get an official divorce, just what we would consider an annulment.
The use of divorce is more in line with the other definition, which is simply a separation. For an ECF appropriate example, I will divorce myself from my addiction to cigarettes.
might just be an effort to be low profile....how would you feel if your new neighbors introduced themselves......"and this is our oldest.....he's the son of God"....besides, they couldn't really ignore verse 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,

LOL! I never thought about that before. Imagine being the next door neighbor and your kid wants to go over to "God's house" and play for a while with God. LOL!!!!!!!!!![]()

Ok smarty pants!
I was reading the Gospel of Thomas today, and verse 27 says "If you do not fast from the world, you will not find the (Father's) kingdom. If you do not observe the sabbath as a sabbath you will not see the Father."
What's your take on that?
Another question: Why were some gospels included in the bible and others not?
