I adore MyPillow and MyBlu.![]()
I've always wanted to try a MyPillow. I should order some someday. 20 of MyBlu has shipped and I'm not as excited as I would be with MyPillow. But MyPillow isn't a buck each either.

Well, I have given up on the 3 Walgreens kits. My impression so far is that Blu is either trying to promote smoking rather than vaping or they got caught with their pants down when the Juul craze hit and had to buy Von Earl just to have a product to market. A company like Blu could not design a better product? Think about it. Attempt to saturate the market with so so hardware and the $1.00 price point and hope to recoup their investment with pod sales. How many smokers will try these, give up, say they tried vaping and keep right on smoking? Kind of sad really. I credited Blu for helping me quit smoking a few years ago. If it had been one of these, I would probably still be smoking! I am waiting for 1 more starter kit that I ordered direct from Blu but I do not have high hopes for it.I'm not sure what to recommend other than opening another one so that you can rotate the pods and batteries to troubleshoot. I've used several of the kits from Walgreens and haven't seen that before.
I'm not sure this is the best device to see what all the hype is about. The juul, Drop, and Air are probably more representative of the hype.

Perhaps if you contact blu, they will replace them since they are offering a lifetime warranty?Picked up 3 MyBlu starter kits at Walgreens this morning and spent all day trying to get them to work. It appears that the 2 contacts on the pods are not contacting the 2 pins in the battery. If you push in really hard on the pod and hold it in they work ok. Otherwise, when you draw, the blu light lights up for about a second and a half then goes off. I figured for a buck I would try sacrificing one and tried a couple things with no luck. Made the little dimples on the battery that hold the pod in slightly deeper, bent the contacts on the pod slightly to contact the pins better and removed the gasket in the battery that the pod seats on. Contacts, pins, etc... cleaned with alcohol swab. I have a bunch of mods, tanks and recently started squonking so I am not new to all this. Just wanted to see what all the pod hype is about. Any suggestions?
... and for me, it’s the best thing blu ever made (bought) and it’s helped me to quit smoking and start vaping (again, haha).
At this point I do not know if it's a bad product or they have quality control issues. Either way, if 3 smokers bought these 3 Blu Starter Kits, they would probably continue smoking with thoughts that vaping is more trouble than it's worth. Especially true for pod systems because there isn 't a huge cost savings over smoking. My guess is the average user will not be refilling pods as that would negate 2 of the biggest pod system advantages- simplicity and convenience.I don’t know, I think this is just an example again of how many different choices we need. For you it’s a bad product and for me, it’s the best thing blu ever made (bought) and it’s helped me to quit smoking and start vaping (again, haha). If I had tried this product when I first started vaping in 2012, I would have saved hundreds of dollars that I spent on kits that I didn’t like, and maybe if I had something this easy that works this well, I wouldn’t have gone back to the smokes a couple of years ago. I don’t know. But definitely an example of different strokes for different folks.
How long would you guess it takes you to vape through a pod? And I figure with that 350mah battery, taking 5 sec puffs, would last about 100 puffs at 2.5A. Does the battery last through one pod?

Puffcat, The kits that I've gotten from Blu, Walgreens and the link in the beginning of this topic are all the same. If you don't like it, you've only wasted $1. A USB cable costs $2 at Walmart. Once the promotion is over, I won't buy more since I prefer other devices. But I've enjoyed the good deal.
Bookworm, I "liked" your post but I'm changing it to "winner" since you quit smoking.![]()

Shipping it back would cost more than a $1, why bother? Oh yeah she has three of them. Okay that raises her price to like 2 bucks apiece. And they are probably just going to replace them and she would have the same problem all over again.![]()
I did think about their warranty and will probably call Blu, more to hear their response than to make up for my $3.00 loss. For me, I just thought it might be a viable alternative for a quick run to the store or situations requiring a little "stealthiness" vs my conventional stuff. I did sacrifice a pod this morning and dumped the original Gold and refilled with my DIY Hamgsen tobacco. I managed to get about 5 decent hits by pushing the pod in as hard as I could and drawing at the same time (easier said than done). I am hoping the one I have coming direct from Blu will be ok and I can chock these 3 up as a bad batch. At this point I do not know if it's a bad product or they have quality control issues. Katdarling,My first MyBlu is a wonky one. It cuts out after 2 seconds. I CAN manage it by vaping it as sort of primer puffs, but it annoyed, to say the least.
I did call Blu. They were willing to send a new battery, and also gave some pointers for the connection. They said to lift up the little gold connectors on the bottom of the pod (just ever so slightly). Should anyone decide to give that a go, just know they will be on an angle, and that's normal.
PS. It didn't change the vape or fix the cut out prob at all.
PPS. I have others that seem to work a bit better, so for value to dollars spent, I remain one happy camperette.
Katdarling,
That is the same symptoms as mine. Try holding the pod in tightly when drawing to see if it works better. Bending the contacts slightly as you described can make it worse because the contacts then push the pod up. I think the problem may be that there is a tiny hole in the bottom of the pod under those contacts that then turns into 2 plastic channels on either side of that hole. Those channels funnel the vacum when drawing, down through a port next to the 2 pins in the battery that leads to the air flow sensor built into the battery. There is a seal surrounding the pins and port in the battery that the pod must seal against and apparently that's not sealing well. That's why holding the pod in tightly while drawing helps. Having that little hole on the pod right over the contacts and pins agravates the problems since any liquid in the chimney and drip tip eventually comes out of that hole.
Well, I must admit that I enjoyed it and it showed me that I can use this type of thing. If one in ten works for a bit, that's fine for the price.
Time to look at the pods. If the middle school kids can operate a juul, I might be able to.
