I have never tried the juul but from what I have read they use Temperature Control which should prevent dry hits. I seriously doubt whether the Blu (or most of the other pod systems) has incorporated that feature. The more I read here and elsewhere, all these pod systems seem to have issues, even the market leading Juul. Sadly, the same can be said about a lot of mods, tanks, replacement coils, etc.... Yet if you watch all the YouTube reviewers, every product works great. A little research on ECF, VU, Reddit and others will go a long way in finding devices that are both enjoyable and reliable.

Another nice thing about the Juul is that there's cotton at the end of the drip tip to minimize spit back. But there certainly are drawbacks. The first hit of a new pod is excellent but after extended use the pods can be fiddly. Air bubbles form around the wick and you need to tap them away to get a good draw. Juul is also one of the few companies still using silica wicks. Silica wicks have some bad press--don't know if that is real or hype but it is something to consider. And when you first insert a pod it fits tightly. After lots of use, the pods loosen up. They can be taken apart and refilled but the performance degrades pretty quickly.

I get great performance from the Infinix. The pods last a long time. No dry hits unless you vape it empty. Very reliable. But spit back is a problem (like the myblu) and the battery indicator is a joke. I posted a review here on the forum. If it weren't for the promotion on the Myblu, I'd still be using this one.

I think the Myblu is similar to the Infinix. I think the Infinix has a better, much more consistent, and smoother vape. The Infinix is much more responsive. The Myblu has a better battery indicator and battery life. The Myblu is $1 which is the biggest pro.

I like the vape from the Suorin Drop a lot. I often go back to this device despite the troublesome pods. I use it with higher nic than the Infinix (the Infinix produces more vapor). It has a cover over the air intake and the tight pull gives me more of a cigarette type experience even though it is shaped nothing like a cigarette. I do like the form though. Unfortunately, the pods can be a bit finicky over time. Although the pod has one chamber, one side sometimes empties into the other side. And there are sometimes dry hits. Sometimes, the cover over the air intake gets gunked up and you need to clean it. The pods don't come apart easily so you can't easily clean the drip tip or replace the cotton.

The Suorin Air is similar to the Drop but it has a looser pull. It is less like a cigarette pull. It doesn't have the issues with one side moving to the other side. But you do have to be careful to avoid dry hits.

The Breeze 1 isn't a pod device and it's a bit bigger but it's a nice all in one. Also the draw is not at all like a cigarette. But a benefit is that it comes apart for cleaning easily. There's a new Breeze 2 that uses pods but I haven't tried it yet.

I haven't tried the Justfog Minifit but it gets lots of praise on this forum. And it looks to be rebuildable like the Myblu.

Is the "Breeze 1" above the "Aspire Breeze?" ...oh, now I see there is a "Aspire Breeze 2." Gosh...step back for a couple of months and all kinds of things are happening. I'd be hard-pressed to go for heads again...

Thanks for the Pod Post @smoked25years

I'm glad it was helpful @Cool_Breeze !

During a smoke break, I gave away one of the Myblu's to a smoker who tried it and like it. I do mess with them from the get go so it wasn't stock. I know some of you like the flavor but I dump it and take the pods completely apart. I rinse and dry them and replace the wicks. Then I fill them with my own mix.

I'm pretty happy with this setup. I usually take 2-3 s light pulls and I try to keep them upright in my pocket to reduce chances of spitback and flooding. Then it's as enjoyable as more expensive devices. Keeping it upright in a pocket can be difficult. I try to keep it in an empty coffee cup on my desk but I sometimes forget and leave it in my pocket. If I do get flooding, I take the drip tip off and thoroughly clean and dry it so that trapped liquid doesn't keep causing problems.

Since this is your 1st pod device, you may not know that the position of the air intake is common. Photos below. In my experience, liquid leaking through the air intake is not common. But vapor escaping through the air intake happens on every puff. Pull the pod out immediately after taking a hit and you'll see vapor escape through the air intake. That does build up slowly and it's a good idea to clean it every few days or as necessary. If you don't clean it, it could cause the device to autofire.

smoked, you seem to be a master of all things pod. Please do tell, what is the simplest way to clean it?

Haha! Not a master but pod devices are what works for me. Pods are basically just really small RTAs.

I don't know if it is the best way but I clean them just by taking them apart, remove the wick, and hold the parts under running water. To remove the deck. either use the tip of a forceps or the corner of the Myblu battery. The best place to separate them is on the side. There's a little catch. Then use forceps to remove the silicone part on the chimney. To remove the drip tip, rock it over the catches on the sides. After it's loose on both sides, pull the drip tip off. Then remove the silicone part underneath.

To reassemble it, put the silicone part on the deck first. This gives the best seal. Then put them back on chamber. Then replace the other silicone part and the drip tip.

Got my order.

Here are a few quick photos of a pod breakdown for those who want to know how to take it apart to replace the liquid or cotton or to clean the drip tip.

Marvelous. And a pictorial tutorial. Love it! Thanks, smoked.

Let me second the thanks, @smoked25years. Your info has been super helpful about all these pod systems. I’m leaning towards the Infinix as a possible replacement for this eventually, but I don’t usually care for a unregulated device as 4.2 is usually a little much for me on a freshly charged batt and I don’t like the voltage decline that happens either. The Myblu seems to be consistent for the whole charge so I’m guessing it’s regulated. Hard to find many specific specs with these pod mods compared to how many are listed for all these other mods, haha, so I appreciate your mini reviews!

Just a little update after trying my fourth Blu, this one direct from Blu. It works- for the most part. Hits are somewhat inconsistant, but overall enjoyable except when drawing a little harder. Then it fills the drip tip with juice. The pod on this one locks in place much more securely than the first three. The little nubs on the sides of the first three pods appear rounded compared to this one. I tried this pod in the three original batteries and only one worked. So after four kits I have one working pod and two batteries that will work with it. Impressive! I called Blu about the 3 Walgreens kits and was told they would send me an email regarding a warranty claim. They said I have to respond to that email with a photo of either my receipt or the battery then they would send me a prepaid envelope to return the defective unit. Only one warranty claim at a time can be processed so I would have to do this one at a time. A day later, I still have not received that email. Just my experience, but a more than 50% defective hardware rate, less than stellar vape performance,an almost worthless warranty and more expensive pods that are not designed to be refilled? No wonder alot of people are still smoking!

Are there any other pods that fit myblu? I purchased one and gave it away, then bought 5 from one company and 3(only received 1) from another company. They said they sold out 1800 in two days.
Anyway I've refilled two pods with my own liquid cause I hate theirs. I'm just thinking it might be difficult to Rewick them with that tiny piece of cotton. Just wondering if there were other pods that fit myblu that might be cheaper. Anyone found anything affordable that fits?

I ordered 20, so far all is well with the 1st fourteen. My wife seems to like them, I gave her one, but ordered a Vladdin and four empty pods for her. She has access to all my gear, prefers the Blu to her SMY SDNA75 with Skyline styled on top.

There are pods that fit, but they aren’t any cheaper. The My Von Erl pods made previously all fit, and there were at least two eliquid brands that sold the Von Erl pods with their liquid. Cuttwood is the only one I remember but I know there was another one. You can definitely still find the Von Erl and Cuttwood pods online, though most places are $9-10, just like the Blu pods.

Let us know how she likes the Vladdin!

Wow! I just got MyBlu. Charged one up and it had taken like 20 minutes (half charged no doubt). Pod was a bit damp from a little of eliquid which probably leaked out (maybe a drop or two). I'm not ADT or anything, but I don't like loose juice.

Wiped it down and it looks and feels fine. Battery is charged and dropped in the pod and then taken a hit. Wow! That Gold Leaf eliquid isn't bad! I dunno, I think it uses nic salts (hits like nic salt anyway). This first one suddenly (like in 15 minutes) won't fire longer than a second. I was drawing pretty hard at first and that might have screwed something up inside. It seemed to increase the wattage when I drew harder and kept up well. Well until it said enough is enough and only gives me 1 second now.

All and all, I think they are pretty good. And at a buck, what a deal. :)

10 have arrived in a Priority bubble pack. Let's see what I've got. Inside is a 2nd bubble envelope...10 Blu's it appears. (These are $29.95 at the nearby quick mart). Gold Leaf 2.4%...not bad... The hit is a bit light for a fellow used to 5% nic...flavor seems okay. Nothing leaking, so far. Takes me a few primer puffs for my style. After a few good pulls, I'm getting a little bit of juice taste at the mouthpiece. Dunno...not now...maybe that was my imagination.

Can't remember what all I've read. Do these leak if not kept upright?
