Have you traveled with these? I'm just wondering whether having a reservoir of liquid at the bottom may cause issues with leakage while being bounced around in a pocket or something. I'm asking this out of complete ignorance, as I'm brand new to this and the goal for me would be to have a mod that enables me to travel with the cart.

Nope, have not left the house with one yet.. But i dont see why it would leak if you have it just right. My e-cigs are standing all the time with the cart on top. If they leak i'd know pretty soon. If they dont leak, i'm sure you could throw it across the room and pick it up and continue to vape hehe.

Ahh.. well i 'll just throw this out there. I have a magical plug that works perfectly.. so finally when it was dry i pull it out and examin it to see just why this one works great and the other dont. I notice right away that one of the sides is on an angle. I thought great.. how in a hell am i gona duplicate that hehe.

Then it dawned on me.. maybe the whole problem is that most of the plugs that i'm making to a certain size are just right so the plug sits flat in there.. meaning maybe its just not tall enough to make perfect contact with the bridge. Hell, ever notice how when it seems dry, you pull the plug out and its nice and moist? Well if it was making contact with the bridge it should suck it up. The good plug came out dry.

I thought of this when thinking that maybe that angle side is actually making it bow up a little. So i went and grabed a plug that seemed to not wick good and slapped it in there.. then i took another plug and carefully cut a sliver off one side of it.. meaning one thin layer. I added that on top of the other plug and it seemed to work good after that.

I dont know.. maybe i'm looking into it a little too much. hehe. when i get some time hopefully tonight, i'll get this figured out. Wasting alot of juice messing around with it so much.

If you can cut a ball with this stuff, test it for me ;) hehe

Ok.. making progress now that the wife is home and i got some free time.

Just tried a longer piece. I thought since my magical plug is 11.50mm long i bet its making a rainbow shape in the cart.

So i quickly made a piece 11.50mm (About a hair shy of a 1/2 inch) long x 7mm wide. Filled a cart and slaped it in there. Puffed away for a while.. came back to it and puffed away some more.. :) Think i got it now!

Wish i could change the first post to reflect the new size. :( it wont let me edit it.

Just got done eating dinner and vaped on it some more :) Did not leak and is puffing away stong.

I also pulled the cart off to check it out and yup, something i have not seen before. A nice indention of the atty bridge in the plug!

Happy, happy!

Gottabefree.. Carefull with that scrubber pad stuff. I've read others say that it has abrasives in it.

Enadrown, i'm sure it would work with the spring as the plug would sit higher then normal and make good contact witht he plug. Prob is that you'll have to worry about the spring rusting and corroding. Which is why i made this mod as it dont have a spring.

The mod is pretty simple and i dont think a video is needed other then maybe to get it out there more as people could find it on you tube.

Just cut the plug to size, fill the cart up to the lip/ledge inside the 510 cart and insert the plug in the cart horizontaly. Try your best to keep the plug flat with the edges touching the inner walls of the cart. You dont want it crooked as it might leak.. have it bunched up and it may not wick good.

The hard part is cutting the size right. I've learned that the hard way the past few days.

ok for some reason, that cleared it up for me :) thanks lol sometimes i can be a bit thickheaded. DH says its cause i quit smoking. thats his excuse for everything right now. i am gonna get me some fliters tonight and try it out :D i love this forum. you guys are so helpful

comes up shopping cart is empty

Sorry here everyone should do this:

Follow this link
and add to shopping cart. Then enter MYCOUPON10 in the coupon section and pick the standard shipping. The grand total, including shipping for a 3pk will be under $9, but if you just want a single (not 3pk) it would cost something like $6 from the link I posted above.

You do the decision making. Worth $3 more for two extra sleeves?

OP: You should include these links with your original message?

Ok eclypse, I would like to try this mod but a couple questions:

- Only have a petco nearby and what I see is that I don't think they carry the exact 'Marineland' brand of U filters, I did find a
http://www.petco.com/product/2792/Rite-Size-Bonded-Filter-Sleeves-for-Magnum-Models-220-and-350.aspx

hope that is the same.

Also about the cart(510), I have 5 round and 5 flat carts. The round ones do have the 'lips' you mention to hold the foam but the flat carts I have do not have lips as defined as the round ones. This makes me wonder if this will work on them.
The mod to your mod here regarding placing something strawlike to hold the foam in place may be something that is needed for flat carts but I have not tried this.
Any ideas as to how to mod a cart without lips?

PMD, i believe thats where i bought mine locally. You may have to go there and look for it.. they prob just dont show it online. Could call them and see as well.

Really hard to tell from the pic but it kinda looks like Fluval.. If its stringy, its fluval. You'll know if its the right stuff if it looks spongy.

Thanks for the info.. i never had the flat tip carts and always wanted to try them. Yeah if theres no inner lip then you'll have to try the straw with the foam. I'm sure it would work fine with the straw. never tried it though.

Played golf today. I used one cart for each nine. I was great. They each lasted two hours of golf vaping! Now if my Protege will ever get here I won't have to change batteries all the time!!!

AWESOME TO HEAR! WOW, crazy!

Wish i could edit the original post.. Must have some time frame in place where after such a time i cant edit the post. Sucks, cause it would save people from going threw pages after pages to see the final product and answers there looking for.

Rite-Size Bonded Filter Sleeves for Magnum Models 220 and 350 at PETCO

I don't think it's the same. That stuff looks two-tone, like it has two different filter materials (possibly) bonded together.

Any aquarium will have something similar to the Marineland stuff. And it's doubtful that it will be exactly the same unless it's Marineland with the same coarse-ness. Or whatever the right word is. If you follow eclypse's dimension exactly then you better have the exact same stuff. Otherwise, do what I did: Cut a piece too big. If the atomizer dries up while there's still liquid in the cart then trim a *little* off and try again. If the piece is too small, it will flood the atomizer, so try again.

But one thing that I think is important, but I'm not positive, is that this Marineland stuff - this exact package - is that the thickness seems to be ideal for a 510.

Well this is slightly different than what I posted before but I will have to go there to see in person

Rite-Size Foam/Filter Sleeves for HOT Magnum at PETCO

and because I love the flat carts so much, it might take some experimenting or else I can only do this with the round ones.
But you have a good idea in this mod so for now I modded your mod by using the orig stuffing in the cart and covering with a piece of ptb and placing it just as a 'cap' in a filled cart (round), the process does work.
Will need that foam stuff though.
Thanks for the mod, so many ideas to make vaping a better, easier, I hope, experience. My ptb's have been ok but so much wasting of juice and time has gotten me needing something better.
