I was mistaken. I knew the body was aluminum. After getting my second in SS, no question the whole thing is aluminum. The SS is much nicer, though it is heavier.
O I see, Yeah it is a huge difference, the ss one has an awesome finish, it looks great on my p10 and or 16.

JR, I like your sig;)
I ordered my SS A2 of Feb 23rd, and it arrived over the weekend. So far I'm liking it. Plenty of vapor, but the throat hit is a bit lacking, and I don't like a hard throat hit. I'm thinking it isn't wicking properly from the cartridge. I read along here somewhere that someone pulled the filler out, and wrapped it around some wick then left the wick stick out ~1cm to improve the wicking. Has anyone else tried that? Has anyone come up with a good tank mod idea as Pheary thinks should work?
I'm still only on my second day of using it, so I'm sure I'll get some of this figured out. Thanks for a great thread.

Al

edit: I just thought to mention that I'm using this on my Darwin. Wonderful combo. And the atty does swing down to turn it off in case anyone wonders.

One thing to be mindful of is that when you screw the body onto the atomizer part, make sure that the wick is not gettin caught in the threads because then the wick will not make contact with the filler in the cart. I have made about 5 coils and 3 have been great and the other two, not so much. That is the beauty of this thing, you just wrap another coil in a slightly different way to see what works best. It really is trial and error and I am not sure that it can be taught all that well. Obviously tips help but there is nothing like actually doin it.

The best o-ring to use is one off one of the mouthpieces. Fits perfectly.

Does it work best if the coil is on the airhole side or on the other side. Also is it better to have the coil higher or lower? Been experimenting a bit but can't get the performance I got from the original coil.

Air hole away from the coil...I've found the coil should almost be flat against the base, but not touching.Try to have the wick almost the length of the nail which you got in your package

Good Luck

I agree with all of that. I wish it had adjustable airflow.

If you think the vape is too "airy" . I took a tooth pick cut it to a little less than the length of the mouth piece, inserted it point side to my mouth trimmed the point so it did not extend past the plastic and made it a harder draw. Is that the issue which you have?

I prefer the hole on the coil side. Coil level with the screwheads. IMHO, the draw gets too airy with the hole opposite the coil. Only thing I don' like about this arrangement is the ease of juice to weep out that hole. But that truly is the beauty of this atty. So many options to adjust, your bound to be able get the vape you desire.

Just found out something about the Bulli A2. I have made some new coils. They worked well at first but dropped off very quickly. I thought it was the juice burning on and went through cleaning and dry burning like you do. No real improvement. Puzzling. Then I took a meter to it and found that the resistance had increased substantially from when I made it. The cause, it turned out was that the screws, while initially tight, seem to loosen a bit under heat, so retightening them while the thing was still warm did the trick. Back to vaping like it was brand new.

You guys probably already knew this, but it has had me puzzled for a few days.

I am gonna give that a try!

Here's a video from the Italian forum showing how to convert the DSE 701 cartridge to a tank system. Dead easy. I tried this and it works a treat, although I found I needed four strands of wick to fill the hole properly.

Yes, it works pretty good actually. I have a ton of the mouth pieces from CE2's and from cartomizers I usually take off and drop in a bag. Thankfully I never threw them away. Now there's two parts I use from old CE2s, the o-ring and the mouth piece!!! Only problem with it is filling is a PITA :) Easier to just use the filler and drip onto it.

Thanks so much for the tip. Its working well so far. Slightly more of a pain to refill. I always have to take the whole filler out and juice the cart up and reinsert the filler, so popping that cap off to refill is barely any worse for me. And like JollyRogers I had a ton of these caps just laying around. Gotta love those boxes of spare parts. :)

I can't believe that Cetin's 'local' source of glasfibre is the only place in the world that sells this wicking material?
I ordered 5m with my A2, so I won't need any for yonks, but no way should we be forced to import such a daft item from Germany, massive postage cost to boot, when we can source it locally. Is it some kind of trade secret or something?

I feel exactly the same way and yes I do believe it is some kind of trade secret, many people have tried to figure out how or where to get it to no avail. I do believe that it is the same wicking that is used in Ce2s but that soes not really help anything either. I have this image in my head of a huge spool of this stuff sitting on my work table but not sure if it will ever happen. I assume that it could be found on alibaba but we would need to place a pretty large order to be able to get it. I for one would be willing to go in on such a purchase maybe we can start a co op or something. Also maybe we can send some pics to suppliers on alibaba to see if they carry it.
