Yeah, and I'm sure that at least some of the people who favor AB 1500 in California think it would be "doing something good".

There's a lesson here somewhere. ;)

The lesson is that there's something very wrong with your sentence.

It included the word "think."

Lol that's what I've been fantasizing about saying to the Democratic Party. But since our Social Security benefits might get inflated out of usefulness, a lot of us cannot afford to retire early. Once we're back out of the workforce, LOOK OUT.

And the conservatives from the same period? A lot of them (and moderates, and liberals) were under fire in 'Nam and also know how to take action. Boomers can BOOM!
Sorry a little late seeing this..

Maybe coincidental to the record youth unemployment? Flood the market with needy, highly qualified old folks and that's what you get.

This is the reason I left California! The whole State Government has lost their ever loving minds! When you have to pay taxes on your State Tax refund was the last straw for me. I overpaid taxes for the year and let the State Government use it for an entire year with no interest. Then they want to tax me for getting it back? My children were exposed to so much violence, sex and drugs in that God Forsaken place and yet they will ban the mail order of eCigs? What's next? Don't get me wrong. California is a beautiful place. I lived in San Diego and The Bay Area. Both were fabulous. I just couldn't get used to the mindset of the State run Nazism. This is just another example. My:2c:

For lack of better words here is an analogy of Ca. For you; the state of Ca. is like a hot guy/gal with a crappy attitude.
That thinks that looks alone is all it takes.
It's home I love it love the weather and at this stage of the game in my life I'm gonna finish it out.
All this ecig stuff is doing is waking a strong silent minority up.
You know I spread the petition Berlyanna put together and a friend of mine said " the reason I didn't sign it was because kids are using it to do drugs"
My response was wait til your ox gets gored. Smdh

Any news regarding this bill? Can they ban mechanical ecigs? or just the nicotine?

You can sign up for auto-mailed news, it's in this thread multiple times.

But for now, since I'm signed up, I'll just say "no news is good news."

I'd work harder to find that URL but my tummy hurts.

I need for San Francisco vapers and ecig users to contact me to help defeat Supervisor Eric Mar's proposed ecig ban. I have had a conversation with Mar's office to raise objections and need to be in touch with more vapers in SF to bring maximum pressure to get this ordinance defeated.

I would appreciate your letting SF vapers in your circles know since I know only one other vaper here.

I have been away from AB 1500 since I have had my attention riveted first on defeating the ban in La Mesa and now doing the same in San Francisco.

However, I spoke to a source in La Mesa who told me that CA Senator Joel Anderson (R) and others are pro-vaping and that there is reason to be optimistic that AB 1500 will be delayed or defeated.

I also learned that US House Representative Duncan Hunter is a vaper. He is a customer of the person I spoke with.

We need to get more vaping politicos and celebrities to come out.

Thank you for a post with a little ray of sunshine in it.
My day's not so dreary now.

Got an email from my Assemblyman asking for input on the State budget in California. I wrote back the following:

One of the most asinine ways of wasting the taxpayer's money is the proposed AB1500. Not only are you wasting time and money taking away from much more important issues, the cost to taxpayers not only to pass but also to enforce the bill will far outweigh the sales taxes the bill proposes to gain. Being a long term smoker, ecigarettes have helped me to quit the tobacco habit as it has for thousands of other Californians. I strongly support the age restriction on the purchase of ecigarettes but outlawing the sale over the internet is not the way. Ecigarettes are not tobacco and my health improvement proves it. The over-regulation by this state's elected representatives have made me seriously consider moving out of California. I am tired of being told what is good for me by people that don't know and haven't done their research. Yes this does affect the state's budget. Cut out the ridiculous BS that you are trying to shove down our throats and focus on the important things that our legislators should be addressing.

Let me guess... I bet it read something like this: "Now that we have a budget surplus, we think we should dress up like sailors, get drunk, and spend it on 'necessary' programs. What do YOU think?"

I applaud your response, very nicely done! :thumb:

Would it be Cool if EVER e-Cigarette/e-Liquid Retailer would send out on e-Mail like this to there Customers?

DRINKING COFFEE IN PUBLIC - TO BE BANNED IN LA COUNTY!

Sound absurd?

Well now that we have your attention we want to tell you about something just as absurd but real. The Los Angeles City Council is planning to meet in a few days to consider a ban on the use of electronic cigarettes indoors and wherever smoking traditional tobacco cigarettes is prohibited. This would mean that you could no longer use XXXX or any electronic cigarette device in public.

Don’t worry; we have some simple steps you can take to help stop this!

First, sign the petition below to give your support to stop this ban. Signing up is simple and only takes a few seconds.

MoveOn Petitions - Oppose LA Citcy Council's Plans to Ban The Use of E-Cigs Indoors and Treat Them the Same as Tobacco

The second and most important step you can take is to show up! Come out on Monday, February 24, 2014 at 2 PM in room 1060 at City Hall at:

200 N. Spring Street
Los Angeles, CA 90012.

Finally please email or call your local council member using the list below. Tell them your personal story about how electronic cigarettes have changed your life. Most importantly let them know that you do not support this ban on e-cigs.
