I thought titanium was ok back when I used it. Ss is definitely better though, but titanium wasn't all that bad. Ni200 sucked for sure.

I came later to the TC wire stuff, so I never dealt with building with Ni or Ti. Fortunately for me I went straight to SS when I "discovered" TC.
SS can be more "challenging" for TC given the its low TCR, but many modern TC enabled chips can handle it well eliminating that issue. From my perspective I like stocking just one type of wire for convenience, and given the ease of build, compatibility with both TC and wattage (variable or fixed mech) modes, and ease of cleaning with a light dry burn, it's really all I ever use. I have a bunch of Kanthal I bought when I first started, but haven't used it in forever. Fortunately spools of wire like Kanthal are cheap, so I don't feel bad about just leaving it in the bottom of my stash.
