Not saying I am going that way, but I have questions ....
1) Has to be some kind of newfangled electronic chip involved. So it means don't drop it, or get it wet, or use in high-dust environments, and so on ?
2) I am guessing there are several TC mods. What would be the better electronic chip ?
3) Who makes the most durable TC Mods ?
4) I am an M-T-L Vaper who stays around 10 or 11 watts. Is there TC mods for my style of vaping ?
5) I prefer squonking over tanks. Is there such a thing as a Bottom-Feed TC Mod ? (and who makes them ?)
6) I build my own coils, not a problem here. But I have to use something other than A-1 Kanthal ?
7) Would I need a new atomizer, or could I use, say... a Chalice III ?
8) Can I still choose my wattage preferences even at lower temperatures ?
9) Don't take this the wrong way, but can I stay under $300 ?

So, a quality water and dust resistant TC Mod (preferably a squonker) that would be good for a Renaissance Vaper (dislike the term Tootle Puffer) for a decent price (but not cheap).
Quality and Durability mean more than lowest price available to me.

Maybe I should just stay with my dinosaur gear. I am happy there....
Not sure if anyone has said it not gonna read all the posts on here but TC is your cruise control. Nichrome SS and titanium are most common I believe klapton not so much I guess it's a more unstable compound. Tc will not let you exceed the temp you have set by constantly calculating and readjusting I love it when I'm on the go or less focused on vaping saved me a lot of coils. Its Not as complicated as it seem give it a go and you will figure it out in no time. From what I have read peo0le keep it around 350-480 but it's a personal choice good range to start in

Just for the record--and to avoid unnecessary confusion for the readers of this thread.
1. NiChrome is mostly used in power mode; Ni200 is used in TC.
2. Clapton is not a metal--it's an intricate coil (invented by one of our own ECF modders), can be any wire. I believe you meant to say Kanthal--that's a wire used in power mode.

The latest from @mikepetro; stay under 420°F. :)

This one song has pulled me out of more emotional funks than I care to recall. The crescendos reach to the deepest depths of my insides.

Sorry, all. I stop now. After this (of course).

No stop, not until the absolute of digging out the depths of our insides may be reached... and pulled out.

My :2c:...
I'm still learning TC, but here's my take.

I started with the IPV D2. No SS mode but I learned how to make it work with titanium. I wanted to try SS316 so I bought a VTC Mini and a Reuleaux RX200. (I don't recommend the Reuleaux due to the large size and lousy 510 connector, though.)

It took me a while, but I finally figured out what many others have already pointed out. You should build for your atomizer/tank and don't worry about resistance or watts. That's what the TC chip is for.

The VTC Mini works pretty well and is inexpensive, but so is the Pico. I recently got the DNA bug and ordered several DNA mods, including the VT Inbox which is a regulated squonker. The Inbox can be had for less than $70 at FastTech. I'm still playing around with the atomizer (Challice IV clone).

My favorite squonker atty so far is the RM2, but my REOs are currently waiting patiently while I play around with DNA chips. (Don't worry, I'll get back to them sooner or later...:D)

Anna, if you are curious about DNA mods, you might want to check out the Lost Vape Epetite. It's a DNA60 single battery mod with the (relatively) small screen located on the wide side of the box and well recessed. It's also (relatively :)) inexpensive for a DNA mod.

I like this version, but you do know that Simon and Garfunkel recorded this song in 1964?:)

I like the original version too. (Dating myself here. I was just a kid but I WAS alive in 1964 :pervy:)

Forgot to mention...I use my KFL+ V2 tanks (all clones) for TC all the time. I do strictly MTL and I set my airflow exactly the same as I would for power mode. Works just fine for me. My usual build is with 26g or 28g titanium, 6-7 wraps at 2.5-3.0mm ID. Recently started playing with SS316 30g same wraps and ID.

Personally I find no satisfaction at 420° or lower but I prefer a warmer vape and usually have dessert flavors that need a bit more heat for the full flavor.

Absto know it, tokarev. Even the Beatles lauded it in their song,

"Will you still need me, will you still feed me, in nineteen-SIXTY-FOUR"

Sorry this is off topic but you guys got me thinking of all my favorite classic bands. While I always enjoyed Clapton's music even back in the days of The Yardbirds and Creme, he was never at the top of my list. Bands like Zepplin, The Eagles, Foreigner, were always higher on that list, but I think Fleetwood Mac is probably my all time fav classic rock band (During the time Stevie Nicks was in the band). Something about her voice is just haunting. The funny thing about Fleetwood Mac though is I know so many people that don't know who they are but as soon as I start playing their music they seem to know all the songs.

John, Paul, George and Ringo.
Still.
Greatest.
Ever.

The only Kayfun I heard that did not do TC well was the K4. They made a post-release spring for it that largely solved that problem (the K4 was released just prior to TC so stable resistance was not as important then). But all other Kayfuns have worked using TC including their newest releases (Mini V3, K5, and Prime).
