Well, it's final and it's real people - Canada Post is going on strike this week.

Notice of a Work Disruption at Canada Post

· Canada Post received notice that the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) intends to begin strike activities at 11:59 p.m. EDT on June 2, 2011.

· In the event of a strike, Canada Post will not operate. Mail and parcels will not be delivered.

· There are also plans to ensure Canada Post returns to normal operations as quickly as possible following any work disruption.

· Despite this development, talks between the company and union are continuing in an effort to reach a negotiated settlement to this round of labour negotiations.

· You can find updated information about the labour situation at Canada Post, and register to receive updates by email or text, at Customer Information Hub: Canada Post/ CUPW Negotiations.

Contingency plans are in place to ensure the security of our facilities and safety of any items that remain in the mail stream during a work disruption. Thank you.

As a clarification on that, the union has filed notice that will ALLOW them to strike as of Thursday, it doesn’t mean that they will. But it doesn't mean they won't either..

I used to be a union employee, and I can tell you this:

If they have given a strike date notice, the ONLY thing that will stop them from going on strike on that day is something more from the management side of the table.. Or at least the ILLUSION of something more substantial, meaning progress in that direction.

Don't count on it... You'll hear nonsense like "The negotiating team went into the 11th hour attempting to avert a strike, but both sides could not find any common ground."

It usually plays out more like both sides are NOT negotiating, and they haven't been talking for some time now. That warm and fuzzy statement is only designed not to piss the public off.

I'm expecting 2 parcels from Jack and one from epuffer - I knew I should have chosen express shipping. I seriously hope I get these in time, I've been looking forward to getting that case for my eGo instead of carrying it around in a sunglasses case :)

Oh how interesting it is to do that right now lol. People tend to look at you open a sunglasses case, only to pull out this weird looking tube and take a pull off it lmao

Drats. As once being a union member and having been on strike once myself, I feel bad for the workers and their family's. It's not a fun experience at all!

It sucks I definitely will not get my package from the US in time, but oh well. I can only hope it will get to me safely once they are back to work.

Well, screw me running sideways,

I got over 300$ of stuff in orders from like 3 different suppliers, including some juices and carto's which i'm almost out of, and a bunch of modding DIY hardware from madvapes that still hasnt shipped out, and also a Prodigy V3 mod i bought off a ECF member... seriously this is making me angry , those postals wokers are making so much more money than i am , and yet they always complain its not enough ! It's going to be 2 weeks of the analogs tomorrow and yet i might have to resort to them again ...

THANKS for nothing Canada Post (thats if they go on strike anyways)
