cant get this thing working :(

Hello

I got my first e-cig through the door earlier today... and i cant get it working.
I charged the batteries and tried dripping into a seperate atomizer i bought, but i couldnt get any vapor out of it. Then i tried with 2 differerent cartomizers thinking the atomizer might be broken, but still no result. I think repeated the whole process with another battery - nothing. I've adjusted the center piece thingy in my batteries to make sure they get in contact with the atomizer/cartomizers. Someone has suggested that it might be my charger that is broken. But since this is my first one ever im thinking i might just missing something really simple without realizing it and i hesitate to blame the product.

Anyone has any suggestions?

What kind of battery is it? Is this a starter kit?

You need to tell people what kind of batteries you're using- what brand and what size. Also what kind of atomizer.

also the rebuildable stardust, but i havent tried with the clearomizers at all yet cause i wanted to make sure everything actually worked first

with those button should lite up on the battery...is the button lighting up when you press it? if not try pressing it 3 times fast to turn it on.

It looks like an ego type battery. It might be the three fast clicks to turn on function.

Edit: I would also try the Clearomizer. Could be you got a dud pack of cartos.

in that case give the vision a try if it does not work then there is something wrong with the batteries.

So, you get a light on the switch button when you push it? Both batteries don't work on any atty you have? I'm thinking they haven't been charged long enough. Most chargers take a couple of hours to charge an 1100mah battery and start with a red light that's green at full charge. My Riva was at partial charge when it arrived and had enough juice to vape. If it's new, contact the vendor for replacement.

I'm posting this in case you need it later.

If you have a light on the fire button, this would be the time I'd get out my multi-meter and set it on volts and the 20v range. If you don't have a meter maybe you have a friend who does. The center contact on the battery is positive. The threaded outer part is negative. You should be reading close to 4v when the fire button is pressed if it's fully charged. If you do, then the batteries are good and the other possibility would be contact issues.

If that's good, then it sounds like all of your atomizers aren't making contact. Reading the resistance on the attys is like checking battery voltage except the meter should be set on OHMS and the 200 ohm scale. Touch the leads together to check lead resistance. This value will be subtracted from what you get as you read the resistance of the atty coil. Check resistance from the outer threads to the inner hole in the center (Don't insert the probe far, just enough to touch firmly against the inside). You should get (minus the lead resistance) the approximate value that the atty is advertised to be.

If voltage and resistance readings are good, then there's something going on with the contacts on the attys or the center posts on the batteries. If it's new, contact the vendor for replacement. I wouldn't attempt to realign the contacts.

If you are sure the battery is turned on after 3 successive clicks, are you then holding the button down while taking a drag? Sounds like a daft question but I have come across many newbies that don't realise they have to press the button while vaping

If the atomizers don't work and the cartomizers don't work it has to be the battery. The chance that neither battery is working at all is sort of slim. It could happen, but that would be rare.

What happens when you hook your battery to the battery charger? Anything at all? How about if you use the USB charger with your computer? Maybe the wall wort.

Trying to narrow down the possibilities of what might be the problem. Like Dave said, if you had a multi meter, that would be ideal.

i have now solved my problem... somehow. i have no idea how. i just kept doing it stubbornly without getting any vapor and bam. all of a sudden it started working >.< im clueless as to what i did. but it works now nonetheless thx for all the suggestions though

That's great!!!!

Just make sure you have your cartomizers completely full. They take about a ml of e-liquid. When flavor drops off, top it off with more e-liquid.

Also, don't wait for your battery to die before you recharge it. Charging before your battery needs to be charged will lengthen the life of your battery.

glad to hear you got it working. That being said like dave suggested get a multi meter (essential vaping gear in my book) incase you do run it to such a problem again you can narrow down your issues using his guide.

An extra battery a multi-meter and an extra charger are essentials.

You don't have to buy it immediately, but it's good to put on your list of things to get.

I'm glad you got it working - just in case, I want to add that if you flood (put in too much liquid) the atty it won't work, you can vape through it and/or blow out the atty and see if liquid comes out. I don't use cartos, so I am not sure it the same would apply to a carto.
