I didn't realize that the concept of capitalism was a exclusively limited to medieval society.
An emerging convergence in the market place may be beginning to blur the distinctions. Case in point: this week, Provape has a bare Zenkote Provari 2.5 on sale for $110.00 and Yihi is scheduling shipments of the SX Mini "M" at a MAP of $199.00. Might be a bit of an apples to oranges comparison with respect to last gen next gen devices but it is still a fruit to fruit comparison IMHO.

Suppose I have a headache. Suppose I can buy tablets which will help me. Suppose I can buy these tablets either in plastic bottle or in silver box with each tablet wrapped in golden foil.
Question: What should I buy? Will silver box and gold wrapping make tablets work better?
Vaping for me is not a hobby but smoking cessation method. Copper tubes with engravings and handmade in America atties have no advantages for my purpose.
EDIT: After a bit of self-psychoanalysis I shell admit that vaping is a hobby of sort for me: vape pleasantly with as little spending as possible. Creates new possibilities. And new threads on ECF.

I don't like a lot of gear / flavours but I don't feel the need to rationalize it by starting threads here about unloved items.
Please, read again. It is not about unloved items, it is about capitalists, artisans and vaping.
Not at all. I have nothing against “overpriced items” and I have nothing against people buying them (whether they are collectors or believers in strong connection between price and quality). It is rant against opinion that these “overpriced items” are definitely the best ones for vaping.
have you ever read a book called "the millionaire next door" or talked to any self made millionaire. the ones I know value frugality and look for well made products at the cheapest price they can find. just because you can afford an expensive item does not mean its the best choice for you.I use a vaporizer to help me quit smoking and not as a status symbol. I am not trying to impress anyone but am happy that I have been tobacco free for 3 month because of these products.all my equipment came from ebay or fastech.and I am happy with it. you do not need a fancy gold plated mod or tank to quit smoking. I have mechanical mods and RTAs and RBAs but my little 1100ma stick battery and kanger mt3 are still my favorite and cost less than $10 from ebay. use what ever you like and what works for you. the goal here is to get off tobacco or at least cut back

For me, I like to support good innovation & creativity. that doesn't mean that every authentic I've ever liked has been priced in a way I consider reasonable. Even if they can justify WHY they're asking that price for it, if it's not worth that price to me then I won't buy.
That said, I rarely buy ANYTHING outside of the consumables I need to vape & those aren't much. so when I do, I support the innovator of whatever it is I'm purchasing before anyone else. If someone's made a product I think is good enough to provoke me to buy it then they deserve to be the one who gets my money for that product.

We didn't get to the point we are at financially by throwing money around.
So I agree with the concept of your post.
On the other hand, those that throw money around to chase bigger and better do support innovation.

Yes, their GDP now exceeds ours when measured by PPP, but what you're forgetting is that their GDP has to be divvied up among 4.25 times as many people. That makes their GDP per capita, a number that's somewhat reflective of living standards, less than 1/4 of ours.
Still, they have made great strides and will probably continue to. Hopefully one of these days, they'll actually develop some ethics to go with their new-found prosperity.
