Hey everyone!

Since there is so much craziness happening every time I open a thread up on here, I'm thinking about starting a PS Twitter so that I can post stock updates and whatever else comes up. Just wondering how many of you would be hot on this idea, and who actually follows and uses Twitter? I'm not big on it, but for all ya'll (see, I'm learning the southern thing!!), I'm willing to give it a go! Feedback please :)

Gracias!

Not for me - I have so many things going on - I dont need that habit... lol - for me I am always around my desktops at work or a server - and my laptops where ever I go - this is perfect for me as it is now - but to each their own....

No twitter for me. I much prefer having one place to check on things.

I would suggest that you lock your stock update thread so only you and Steve can post to it, make it a sticky, and do a once a day full update on what you have, don't have, and when you'll get it. Probably save you a lot of PMs too ;-)

It's annoying to have to read a bunch of unrelated posts to finally get to stock info.

Nope. I'm not techno challenged and will never Tweet. I have enough places on the web that I get various information that I have to keep track of.

I recommend cleaning up the "Puresmoker Stock Status Update" thread with PS being the only ones that can post updates, or a new thread of the like.

Also, the PS website should have those announcements to keep the customers updated.

It seems that some of the PS informational threads here become social threads, and it can be difficult to sift through to get the info desired.

I think it would be just one more thing for you to have to update....I'm sure you wouldn't stop updating here, right? Right?? lol

I fourth the vote to have an employee-only update area. Anyone that has a cell phone most likely has the ability to check a website if they're THAT much in a hurry for updates... if not they'll check it at night as they unwind, without having to sift through stuff they maybe don't have time to read.

Twitter is required for me for TWO of my college classes, and that irritated me..I'm not signing up for more twitter!

While I don't personally use tweeter, I still voted yes since I don't see how the status on tweeter would hurt me. I've seen the above arguments and most of them make sense for the "I don't need it" answer. I still fail to see why would someone vote "No"? Is it since you don't want to get updates on e.g. your cell phone you don't want anyone getting them or what?

I'd rather get them here rather than going someplace else.
I'd rather Casey's life was easier with adding another place for her to update.
I voted no because it's detrimental to either Casey or I.
I don't think that Casey said that she would stop providing updates here. IMNSHO, providing updates both here and on tweeter is not really much more work, even if you don't have any integration, you can still resort to copy and paste, and that'll add less than 1% of work.
I do expect that the day will come when the regular and official updates will disappear from the forum and move to puresmoker.com, tweeter or some more marketing friendly medium. We all want puresmoker to be successful, and forum just isn't practical when your user base reaches certain number. Let's let them move gradually and allow ourselves some time for the adjustment, rather than driving Casey mad and forcing them to make an abrupt switch 6-12 months from now when the forum becomes unmanageable and they are getting 1k orders per day.

Of course you should. ;-)

To anyone saying 'no': why would you not want PS to add an additional medium like Twitter? FYI - such things aren't at all useless just because you yourself don't use them.

To Casey: Not only will Twitter allow you to push stock updates to Twitter users, but it will also serve as a valuable marketing channel for Puresmoker. I *do* social media for a living, and if I owned the top US 'hot rod' PV company, I sure as hell would be building a massive Twitter following.

Aside from letting your die-hard users receive updates, you can also use the account to send out links to quality pro-vaping posts / articles, run contests that will build your brand awareness and drive customers to your products, and address customer service inquiries. Building a solid Twitter presence is pretty much a given if you're running the sort of operation that you're running.

If you have any questions or want any more input about specific strategy stuff, I'd be more than willing to help you out. Just say the word. ;-)

All the best,

...D

Um, yeah. Sure. I must be afraid of tech.

Then you don't get it. Once you understand twitter, it isn't "the next new thing", it's merging all the old crap into one convenient place. I can't count how many of your typical "hate it even though I have no clue what it is" types that changed their mind that I know.
