Just got in some 24g, coiled a Vector...7 wraps 2.5mm, right about .29 ohms. Oh man. 24g is meant for the Vector, as far as non-crazy-wired builds go. It's shining. Peeps taste better than ever (though I ain't vaped a Peep in a Manta yet :))

The, uh, clouds are crazy.

So I straightened and twisted some 30g, wrapped a pair of 2mm 7 wraps. .4 ohms. Was pretty meh. Lowered the coils to where the bottom of each coil is just barely higher than the top of the juice well - hellzyeh! Pretty dang good, flavor and vapor. Restricted to just less than 2 holes each side, definitely delrin dt only, but I think I've dialed her in. Little changes in coil height make huge differences in the Manta, much more so than a lot of other attys.

Ive been thinking the manta was good for weeks now, every time a new atty comes along there seems to be a new fav for some people.
I have good karma with the vaping gods and most attys are good for me.

Ones I have Manta good , hellboy good , bonsai good and mini haze good though that one is best on full charge battery and the vape lowers more than the others when the charge goes down.

One I got on a pre-order hatsur and am sending away may be good - looks similar to manta with couple more post holes.

I'm supposed to be doing yard work today, but it's pouring out there.

So instead I decided to play with wicks. Thought I'd share my first little experiment with my homies:
Composite cotton wick: engineered performance | E-Cigarette Forum

On a different subject, I took all the airflow bits back off my Manta and re-wicked it. Gotta say its starting to grow on me. I think a juice with more intense flavor may just set the hook (Catfish humor :)).

What's the heat up/cool down like. sloth? I'm tempted - running 26g at the moment.

Read they shot one of those escapees Magaro , so have you come out of your Bunker ? :D

Those cons never got down our way after all, so we've been out in the fresh air for a few days now. Well, not today, because the air is mostly liquid H2O.

My woman thinks the evil old dead guy probably already killed the other one. Devious mind at work, here.

It's pretty pronounced really, but, in function it's not a big deal to me - because it's unleashing crazy vapor the second I push the button. So far, no after-sizzle, which surprises me - maybe it'll creep in, who knows. When I finished setting them up I was dubious because of the heat up/cool down but it's one smooth yet ferocious vape.

ETA an after sizzle did creep in lol - but no off taste as a result :)

I agree about the Manta. I have a gear budget so when I want the newest/greatest debut here then I sell the old and get the new. This Nectar tweaked my interest so the Manta is going up for sale and hope the Nectar is as good or better. Experimenting is fun and thanks to Catfish is possible. ;)

Thats a gamble though if the one you get you don't like as much as the one you sell.
At least possibly till the next one.
Unless your also easily pleased.

Good point and it has happened on the bummer side of that scenario but the upside Tom's attys always sell easily. I admit I'm no good judge of what's a good atty only a great judge of what I like and so far this little adventure has been interesting and fun so far. :)

Wow Sloth, I can't keep up with you. :D Took your advice on the dual parallel 28 on the Vector and it's outstanding at .3 ohms. May not make a lot of difference on the the configuration as long as you're staying around .3 ;)

That's a better build IMO - I'll probably mostly roll with 24g but only because it's so easy. I struggled a bit with the parallels. But the heat up/cool down is much better with your build, flavor may be better too, never vaped a peep on the parallel build :)

Man you're gonna make me spend more money! Haven't tried 24 yet, and I might have to get more peeps!

And to all you flavor chasers out there, if you're considering the manta, I actually gave mine up because the flavor was too intense for me! Just a note!!

Just got a CH BF authentic Omerta in a trade. Put a fresh build on it this afternoon, my go to 26ga, 8 wrap, 2mm ID. Came in at 0.423 Ohm, the shorter legs shaved off a few hundredths of resistance than my normal builds. I know, so last year, but new to me :) So here's some build pics for a little nostalgia for some of you.

Since the coils are slightly off center I thought it seemed like a good idea to give them a little tilt. Seemed like a good idea to get air under the coils.

24 rocks to build with, it stays put! Easiest build I've ever done in my life. Zero hot legs at all. So easy to work with, only con being ramp up/cool down, but IMO when you're this low in ohms it hits good enough anyway (but no, not as good as those parallels, which rip red in a heartbeat and cool down just as fast) it's actually not even a hot vape whatsoever, even restricted to 4 holes total - just very warm and flavorful.

Yes, Manta flavor's intense for sure - I'd go so far as to say Wakonda just fully matured into a warrior before my eyes. I hadn't realized it was still in adolescence. And the smell even seems better - was vaping Cure in the car earlier, got out, went to PO, came back - the smell in my car took me by surprise. So intense and delicious.

Ok now I'm sold on trying 24 in my Vectors! I like The Cure, but haven't completely fallen in love with it yet.
