I posted this over in the other thread also.

Ok guys and gals. I picked up some yesterday afternoon and promptly wicked one of my KF's.

Vaped on it until bed time and then again this morning. Had to stop.

Vapor, way more than I like. I'm not a cloud chaser by any means but I do like to see a nice full exhale of vapor. Rayon puts out a ton of vapor.

Had to turn the voltage up so I wouldn't get Wet hits. Not wet like liquid in my mouth, wet on the back of my throat.

Flavor, kind of OK but the one thing I noticed is I was getting way to much sugar flavor and not enough Flavoring flavor. Hard to explain but after about 10 vapes in the morning with my coffee I couldn't vape on it anymore. Took it to work and then out to the jobsite and I had to stop. The sugar flavor was actually making me sick to my stomach. Had to switch over to a iTaste VV V3 with a MPT 3 and my Halo G6 carto's on G6 batteries. Tried to vape off it a little while later and all I got was SUGAR. So much so it made my mouth sticky.

At that point I put it down and just vaped off the other devices I had with me.

When I got home, about an hour ago, I took the Rayon out and rewicked with cotton. I'm back to old faithful. Same juice, same KF, same everything.

I think I need to start mixing my own juice and or get some PG and VG to Cut most all present juice with to cut out some of the flavoring.

Had to dry burn the coil before I replaced the wick. It was fairly gummed up.

So I'm done with Rayon at the present.

Thanks.

Yes. Here's a top shot. But I put some KGD back in for a test :)

Note that the tails are thru the holes - not wrapped around :)

Ok, yeah I see now. Must've been the way the light/shadow was showing around the edge of the insulator in the other photo.
That looks almost identical to my cyclone coils... I even notice you bend the trailing ends of your tails 90 degrees and then snip them even with the top of your post. Great minds think alike.:)

After trying this CC for about an hour, it seems to wick great. Taste is about the same as my KGD but I see what you mean about the stringy texture. It's not very difficult to feed through a 1/16 coil though. The main test for me will be whether or not it irritates my throat after all day vaping. The KGD doesn't bother me so we'll see how it goes.

cheers

Well like I told my boss. If it don't vape good. Then I got 500 feet of .... packing material to use. :)
And I can always sell the left overs to the cloud chasers I know.

Oh it will - wait and see! So far, unless you vape unflavored or are a recent ex-smoker, the consensus is it's fantastic :)

When I got mine today, I was shocked to see the box it came it. I was expecting......I don't know what......something more the size of a rolled cotton box from Walgreens or something. Then he handed me this box that's a 9"x9"x9" cube. Wow. Anyway, I was hoping he didn't ask me why I needed it. Ha. It just seemed so ridiculous to try to explain I needed it for PV wick material. That was just going to be too hard to explain on so many levels. Anyway, he said, "looks like you'll be set for awhile" and I agreed. Then he said, "You know, you can put this around your bathtub where it meets the wall, then saturate it with bleach and it'll kill any mold you have." I told him I'd have never thought of that and good idea, and yadda yadda....then checked out.

Then I came home and tried it (I like it a lot so far.) and am now trying to share with anyone who wants to try it. REALLY. If you're the least bit curious, PM me. I'm giving away as many free samples as possible.....and I'm going to clean as many bathtubs as I can find.....and wick as many RBAs as I can find.......then try to figure out some Arts & Crafts projects I can use some of it on. Meanwhile, it's sitting on the floor under my kitchen table looking for a home.

So i've been lurking and read all over the Rayon wicking movement and my interest is peaked, but I wanted to see if I could find something 100% rayon to use in my kraken genny atty..
Turns out wallyworld has, in their fabric section, stitch and tear material in the 100% rayon...can't wait to try this stuff in the kraken in place of say stainless steel mesh.. maybe a disaster or maybe work perfectly, but at 1.37 per yard.. its worth a try ..

I would be very cautious using any type of rayon fabric. It goes through much more processing and or added chemicals to turn it into/ become a textile fabric. I would highly suggest against it. *But at same time not sure what you've got, if it's not loose cotton type fiber there could be trouble.

There are also different chemical makeups of rayon one particularly used in textile clothing applications is not - cell OH+ Na2So4 , it has an acetate molecule added. Or a cuprammonium rayon. Cotton in making clothes also can have other chemical treatments so its a similar deal.

We want pure "regenerated cellulose" which is CCr or pharmacuitical coil.

The smell from burning it should only be paper absolutely no other smell.

I find that I get some cottony flavor from it (the same w/ CVS sterile rolled cotton) I may just be sensitive to the flavor. Sooooo, do a quick soak in hot water then a rinse in cold water 2X, dry it out and there is only the slightest hint of flavor for the first few puffs.

**If anyone is in PHX and wants a sample, send me a PM. Gotta spread the joy.

Great vid SxD. Exactly how I do it except I have been cutting the wicks right at the edge of the atty. with a sharp cut, the ends of a properly fitted wick look very much like the end of a paint brush.

These are great scissors for cutting wicks, $1.27 shipped.

Yes, another great vid super_x thanks!

And stashbldr is sending me some cellucotton and some KGD to try, vapemail I am waiting for you!

Here's a vid :)

Outstanding Super X. Just got mine today. Rewicked all the Reo's. Fantastic so far. (wish I would have watched this before I did the re wicking though). But hey it's not like I don't have enough to play with. Already rolled off about 70 feet or so to take to the little kids at the shop. And you make some excellent points about how to wick a coil. (Oh how many times I've heard this. "Check out this coil." Heck I can't even see it because of all the cotton you got stuffed in there).
