Oh heck. I put it on a ROLLING BOIL. 15 min. One big wad of nothing vapable.

When I hear the word boil. I mean I BOIL. Nothing gentle about it. Geez I did wrong again. Now what to do with the other 300 feet. I took a heck of a lot to the shop for the kiddies to play with.

Wow. I thought KGD was my wick for all my drippers or bottom feeders. After reading all this, I simply must try it. I really like the gentle boil/fruit roll up plan.

Ok figured out what I did wrong.
Too much rayon in to small a pot.
Did it again today. Small sections and drying now. Gentle boil.

And yes super x can lead the blind so they can learn. Redid Master Sargent and he tasted pretty good.

There is no need to boil this!! if you do try to leave the coil undisturbed. I recommend drying flat on paper towels after you drain it out.

Here's a video I made, I over exaggerated some of the steps for show. This was for a flashi. And actually the amount I used was not enough.

You'll see how twist down to make it smaller to slide trough the coil. Exaggerated the coil slide to show if you pull on it close to the coil it shrinks down. Also note importantly that you don't want the dense pieces in the middle that's why I was pulling off to the denser parts.. Remember you have 500! Feet so only use an even choice part.

It was the first video I've made and the next one will be better and a more accurate density. You see when I lined it up I went about twice the width of the coil well you need 2.5-3 times to start with.

Has anyone tried this Rayon wick on sub-ohm builds? I usually vape 0.3-ish ohm builds. How would the Rayon fare in that perspective?

Like none other.. Wicks fast, tastes great. Or doesn't taste I should say.

You don't need to boil it! It's pure regenerated cellulose.

Rudy, I'm really liking it. It seems more absorbent to me. Fewer squonks. I've only been using it for a few days. I really like the READY-X-WICK....especially the 1 mm version. BUT, this stuff is really easy to re wick, and it seems to last really well. No dry hits so far. I just like to try everything. How about I send you a little and you can try it? I have enough to last us both (and 700 of our closest friends) about ten lifetimes. I'll just stick some in an envelope with a stamp on it. Anybody else out there who wants a little to try.....PM me. I'm serious. No need for all of us to buy 500 feet.

Jeremy, thank you for the video and the comments past it on youtube. I appreciated you showing us how much you are using. It was interesting watching you fiddle with it, double down, stretch it, roll it, etc. I could not decide if I had too much or too little on my Taifun GT. It is AMAZING stuff. Thanks for all your research and putting up with the initial grief/blow back. I have been keeping up on the other thread until this week. Glad to see this video on here.

BTW, when I went to Sally's to purchase Un-reinforced, 100% rayon, CelluCotton, # 44060 they had two boxes. The woman was directing me to a double size box of unreinfored COTTON rather than what I had come to buy. I said I would take the one I was looking at anyway and finally saw the small sticker on the top of box once outside that said un-reinforced. She claimed they were no longer going to carry the one I was looking at past the sale of those boxes. For the sake of others, I hope she was incorrect.

I have the big old box of cellucotton 100% rayon and have shelved all my other wicking material. Wick it dense and it keeps the coils spotless! Luscious flavourful vapes.

stashbldr generously sent me some to Australia! Just for info I have never used Koh Gen Do or ReadyX, just the local supermarket cotton which I thought was pretty good. There was some KGD in the packet too, but I went straight for the cellucotton and wicked up 3 atties to see how it was. After vaping a few hours on 3 different Reo's my thoughts are that it makes for a very clean vape, very smooth and consistent between squonks, each toke tastes the same, quite unusual (for me). It really is a nice wick material. It may be more difficult to detect when a dry hit is coming up by taste, so I'm using the "if in doubt - squonk" technique for now, until I work it out. Yes, very clean taste, love it. Thanks stashbldr!

Happy to have sent it to you, many of us have switched to using it and find it to be fabulous! Over the years I've tried nearly every wicking material but nothing has ever worked as great as this rayon, it is the best wicking materisl I've personally ever used.

So ... I have been using the Rayon for past 3 days ( thanks for sample Jan) and I must say I'm impressed! I have been a strong supporter of the ReadyX for its indestructability, longevity, ease of use , set & forget, no burnt wicks etc.
After using the Rayon I found just as Ian mentioned above. Much more consistency in each hit. Smooth, clean, volumous. I found that I wasn't getting that squonk, get a good 2/3 hits of smooth, than taper off, then hot dryer hits. This seems squonk, then keep hitting until instinct tells you to squonk again. It seems to soak up and hold more juice per squonk than the ReadyX. I am still keeping my ReadyX on my "road REO" for the sense of security but enjoying the rayon at home.

I'm about to order some rayon from a previous posted source but I'm wondering if it is safe? Please, does anyone know? I've got some COPD so have to be careful.

Dodari, read this whole thread to figure out whether or not you feel comfortable about it being safe. I personally think it is, but you need to inform yourself. BUT....PM me if you want some....I have a LOT and there's no need to order any until you've at least tried it. I'll send you some. I got mine at Sally's beauty supply. The links above are for rayon balls, and they looked very, very expensive. Those are not what we're getting. PM me. Really.

As a long time vapor and a person in the fiber/apparel business for almost 30 yrs one would think I would have more insight into all of our wicking options but even with my resources I can't say that I do.
There are still biases from the best resources I have around the world since this is a new application of textiles.
I am still trying to dig into the rayon options and can't say I have a good answer yet but I believe I will.
I know the fabric science and hv access to the fiber processors and spinners but it will take some time.
Wiki, etc won't give you the complete answer unless your mind is already made up.
IMO it depends on the processing as much as the heat resistance of fiber...keep in mind that each maker may have a different processing method.
Rayon can be explained easily but it is much more complicated than that.
I have some questions out there and hope to know more soon and will visit the processors in sept when I can see it myself.

I also contacted some rayon producers, namely the ones that I found out made the rayon balls I bought at the local drug store, and asked them some questions regarding the properties, purity, etc.

Didn't ask them any vaping specific questions since I feared that they would just hand me a reply from their attorney and try to play it safe. You know how these things go. Hoping to get a reply soon and will report back soon as I do *fingers crossed*.
