Excellent thread, thanks to the OP...I got hit for the 9.84 and another .08....card cancelled!!
Who's this "whole group of people"?
Ya, I think it would be cool, if not responsible to give specific facts like a link
to this current scare?

Makes me wonder if the banks can do say, a 'mass flagging' for that particular amount across all of their accounts. If A payment processor was compromised then it doesn't matter how you shop online. B&M charges you made are st risk too. What surprises the hell out of me is that the banks have not shut this down yet and are continuing to allow these charges to go through

I have not ever shopped at Target with my card but I shop at Amazon fairly often, at least once or twice a month.I'll give this thread a Christmas day bump...I caught the 9.84 charge also, ran the google search, got a link to come back over here. Card cancelled on Christmas day oh boy!! Seems honestly from all I've read this may be a random card number hack...seems to be no common denominator like a certain place shopped(target or amazon) or card (visa or mastercard) and several different location names taking the money. Only common denominator is the 9.84 amount. Got to wonder how many people won't find they have this until after the holiday...the banks should just block this up front asap but ya know...
I feel fortunate that I keep managing to dodge these bullets. Of course doing my rebuilding and DIY juice I don't usually have an occasion to purchase vaping stuff online, though I did just buy most of my spring textbooks off of amazon late last week.
Hubby unfortunately made a purchase at target recently. Nothing fraudulent has popped up yet, but still I was annoyed. I won't shop at target. I'm still mad about the bellringer thing from years ago. I hold corporate grudges forever![]()
It has nothing to do with "vaping" purchases.
