Haha Coelli, I just now realized that you are of the female gender... Whoops! Anyway, I'm pretty dang happy here in ReoVille. The Provari is more or less waterproof though, anyone seen Phil Busardo's trip to Provape video?

It was my Stingray clone that made me sell my Provari though. Once I actually realized the amount of power that thing can crank out, the Provari collected dust until I sold it. However I do regret selling it after seeing Pbusardo's video of his visit to Provape.

I like mechanicals for simplicity myself. I know exactly what's going on and can diagnose issues right away. My Reo at .7 ohms has been treating me very well. I also sent my Trident V2 off to quigsworth and he just finished turning it into a bottom feeder. Trident V2 + Reo is going to be a dream...

I had an autofire incident with a chi you and kayfun once. I was in the middle of trying on a new pair of shoes and I think the lock ring was disengaged from standing up and sitting down over and over again. Ultimately I lucked out and there was no harm to the device (just a very warm thigh and slightly damp pocket ) or battery.

That was fun.

Since then if I am leaving home with a mech I have a cheap no name telescopic w none reverse threaded (no lock ring needed) magnetic button.
Doesent look as sexy but its much easier to set up and use.

But OTOH there is something nice about just clicking a button 5 times and tossing your mod in a pocket and going about your day

The FDA has to look into the dangers of shoes. Some shoes are marketed as childrens shoes, too. It's crazy. Ban them all, I say.

I have put thousands into mech devices over the last 3 years, and I've sold most of them off for one reason or another, but I kept 5 or 6 for daily use.

I vape .4 to .6 ohms with mostly under-coil air sourced drippers with 3 to 4mg nic... all day and night. Around 10ml a day, and I go through at least 3 18650's a day; at least.

When I see a 100w or even the 30w regulated boxes coming out, vaping sub ohms regulated, with good battery charge usage times, "same vape every time" kind of thing, more or less... I'm gone.

Folks say; "100w! you must be nuts!" but i'm thinking mid range wattage for a .4 ohms coil, at 4 to 5v or near...

Vicious Ant did a 120 watt beast at $500 and sold out in no time flat!

Guys are making their own with Natro or Nato chip whatevers and digging it... and you can get them made for you for the price of a high end mech mod.
In a year we will see lots and lots of sub ohms mech users switching to regulateds imo. and reals and clones will be flooding the market too.

No fight; Reo is now set up with sub ohms contacts; winner.

I saw a DNA30 chip set up in a Grand where the bottle would go...awesome; the LED was where hole is in the door.
Reo box enclosure is the best all around case type for a regulated device. Its efficient and indestructible.

It would neat if somebody retrofitted a DNA to a real but kept it bottom feeding.

Im back to using my Vamo V2 with my KFL,i think it tastes better than my mechs now, vaping 1.5 ohms at 15 watts tastes better than vaping .8 ohms on a mech, just my opinion, just waiting for the FT Hana clone to arrive.

LOL, this is a real change in three days HR! I thought you were going to be a Paps/Kraken vaper for a while longer ;)

When I finally came back and a few minutes later said quietly to my boyfriend in a pitiful little voice, "I burned my hands..." he said he didn't even know what happened, he thought I just went outside to vape. I said "I was not stopping to have a conversation about it." :p It was REALLY hot. I still have an imprint from the RDA on my palm. I don't know how long it was firing, but it was hot all the way to the bottom cap, which was stuck (I had to get the top cap off to get the battery out). Lesson #2: Make sure there's always a bandana in your bag to wrap a mech in when it turns out it's too hot to hold with bare hands - glad it was in there.

Anyway, I'm still using my mechs but I have an even deeper appreciation for the safety features on my Provaris. :) They are fairly idiot-proof and I am often an idiot.

Had a chi you do this to me. Locking ring was stuck, and I set it down. had a client come in and I started smelling a faint burning smell. turns out the pin was making a connection and it had been firing for who knows how long. I had to grab it and take it outside. The thing was hot as heck and I had to set it down. Since it was still firing I knew I had to unscrew it so I picked it up again and fought through the pain to get it to stop firing. Had burns on both hands. not blistering burns, but pretty bad burns. Don't get me wrong, I know it was all user error, and It was my fault this happened, but damn that scared the .... out of me hahah

The Mech vs APV debate is far more complex than just regulated vs unregulated vaping, that's just a single (and for some, minor) aspect of the whole thing.

First thing I'll mention is power levels, you can get a mech that will push as much power as you want starting around $20. To get into APVs that can even begin to compare power levels you're going to pay around three times the price, and then you're still limited to 30 watts and low availability.

If you want more power or options then you need to completely change form factor from a tube mod to a box mod. A very personal thing, a lot of people don't like boxes. It's also very possible you're going to have to switch to a mod that doesn't even use the same batteries that you've stocked up on (like many high powered boxes do) and have hardwired batteries so you can't switch them on the go. A few thousand mAh may sound like a lot, but it's not when all your vaping seriously takes place at 30+ watts. This form factor simply will not work for many people, unless they want to carry 3 mods around with them.

Then you have size issues, all APVs are going to be bigger than a mechanical capable of the same performance. For some people size isn't a big concern, for others it is, and huge lightsaber APVs just won't cut it.

For me personally, I hate boxes so that cuts a huge chunk of the performance APVs out of the running right away. Then I'm left with long tube mods which can't match the performance of a mechanical, OR I could simply use my small compact mechs that offer outstanding performance, with the only negative being a slight decrease in performance from a fresh batt to the time I change them, which to me is as close to a "non-issue" as I could get.

For others size might not be an issue, the change in the vape of a mech might be a huge issue, we all have different needs/wants which is why so much different gear exists. Both have their strengths, you just need to match what each offers to what you're looking for. There truly is no "best"

^^^Good Post - I thought the Provari was all i would ever want and to be honest.. it is really all I need as I rarely vape above 15 watts (with a tank)..RDA is a different story.. But what got me with mechs is the size versatilty.. taking the wife out for dinner.. 18350 - Nice and small.. at work or long day out =18650. I can keep batteries in my little vape bag for every occasion.. That is something the Provari just couldn't do - 18350 or 18490 is all I could do and even then it wasn't very stealthy.. Then the RDA's come in and now the power limitations come in. I still love the ProV and use it with tanks or single coil RDA's but when I want that Stillaire with dual coils at .4 to .6 ohms - the mechs just leave it dead and bleeding on the side of the road.. Just whatever you like..but the mechs to me are far, far more versatile in just about every way.

I like them all, I have a single ego style, a single DNA, and a single mechanical. With the regulated mods you get better performance with high resistance coils and better control over your vaping experience. With mechs, you get more freedom over your builds, more power out of sub ohm coils, more customization options, and sheer durability.

My 20w regulated mod is smaller than a Nemesis with a kick in 18500 and 18650 mode. Same size as a Nemesis in 18350.

So regulated mods don't have to be large.
