I got so busy talking about books, I never did tell you anything about tutoring, but nothing unusual happened today. The kids read some, did a word search, and a Mad Libs.
Then I went grocery shopping and bought a lot of stuff. Getting everything into my freezer was a challenge. I have a bag of bagels that'll thaw, so I'll be eating bagels like mad for the next few days. Other than the bagels, everything is packed into my freezer as tight as it'll go. We're supposed to get a snowstorm, so I'm glad I did the shopping before it, so I don't have to either go out in bad weather or do without a lot of food. I wouldn't starve. There are always odds and ends to eat here, but we needed fresh fruit and stuff like that.

The first [QUOTE] was missing a ,um, this this thing "]" bracket?

Good morning peeps.
My dentist called and said I have a tooth cleaning today. I don't really like this dentist office so I will decline any x-rays. I'll save those for when I find a new dentist.
I'm supposed to go see my neighbor today. I'll have to call her and see if she is available.
The wind was pretty good yesterday.
Hubby accidentally scared Willie with a flashlight and she slept on the east side of the house in hiding all night. Hope she is okay and still here when the sun comes up. Poor dog is pretty easy to frighten. We shall have to work on that.
It is a toasty 38 degrees outside.
Love Never Cry Wolf by Farley Mowatt. Read Flowers for Algernon. Good book. Pretty sure I read On the Beach when I was young.
Smoky the Cowhorse was probably one of my all time favorite horse booksBy Will James.
Great photos, Celt.
Hope you guys back East are surviving the cold and snow and ice. Of course, you aren't even on ECF right now if your power is out. Poor little things.
Yep - Uh-oh - I usually stay home if it is going to be snowing
Willie is still here. Poor little dog is at the bottom of the pack because she is so willing to cower. Definitely a submissive dog. I'll have to make sure she gets some individual attention.
If you want a good apocalyptic novel, try Lucifer's Hammer by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournell. From a scientific aspect it is very accurate with the descriptions of the results of the root of the catastrophe. I read "On the Beach" in 7th or 8th grade and when I put the book down I had to mentally bring myself back to the "here and now" reality. The movie was good, but the novel was very intense, at least for me.
Robert Heinlein, "Stranger in a Strange Land" has a large list of great sci-fi and one of my favorites is "Time Enough fro Love". Keep in mind "Stranger" was one of Charles Mansons incentives...no telling how a twisted mind can take things.
We had about three inches of snow Sunday night that I cleaned up, just in case we got more. The temperatures have been below freezing all week so it didn't melt much which made it good thing I cleaned out the driveway. There was about a foot more on the ground this morning when I got up and it's been switching from snow to sleet to rain and back and forth all morning. Right now there's a lull, but it's supposed to snow again late this afternoon and into the wee, small, hours of the morning. I can't decide when I should start cleaning it all up again. Then we're supposed to get another clipper system on Saturday. I'm sick of snow, cold and winter!
On the up side, Mrs. Awsum has a five day mini vacation, two days for the storm, two days for the weekend and Monday for President's Day. Sad, but most people don't remember it is celebrate Washington and Lincoln and think it's a shopping sale day.

I hardly ever dream or at least I don't remember them but I remember these.
