Hmmm, double doors up in the middle. Looks like they're putting a deck up there, huh? I bet that whole bottom front is coming down.

I don't understand. A deck? Do you mean the roof above the front porch? And what's coming down? It's fixed up now. Nothing you see will be coming down, I think.

Me too, Jerry. That's why I've always called Voltville "home". :)

*************

Nothing quite as frustrating as having your power go out for three hours right before you're expecting cross-country company. :glare: It's back on now. Sure hope it stays on.

Terry & BF are now about 17 miles away, but stopping for a bite to eat. Wish I had that .gif handy of the woman dancing in her chair because she's so excited.

Here ya go. I stole it but I'll share it with ya.;)

I had an interesting day at work. The power went off for an hour. A squirrel had blowed the transformer. Then we had a customer that wanted to cash a check wrote to his live in but deceased for 3 months girlfriend. Her signature had been forged on the back. We said we couldn't cash the check, it would need to be reissued in his name since they were not married. He is an 84 year old whom said "It's okay we married after she died, it was legal, IT"S LEGAL."

It's legal....yeah, right !!!!! Gotta love customers like that, they make an otherwise routine day a bit exciting. LOL

Did he have a joint savings account with her? If so, he could have just deposited it into their account and then withdraw the money, on another day.

It's hard to tell by the picture, but I think those were doors above the porch peak before the fire, and they have just replaced them. (?) I followed the picture back to PB and saw the fire pics again, the triangular 'trim' above the doors and windows were windows, one of them shows the broken glass. There must have been some sort of shutter over the glass. Since there are no windows installed up high, and they are putting up the siding, that feature seems to be retired. Hopefully the gingerbread will make the cut.

They did have a joint account but laws now her part ownership ceased when she died, he became sole owner of the account. Too many national lawsuits over children wanting their parents half of the account so laws were changed. :)

That is something to be aware of......if you have someone listed as a co-owner or secondary owner because you need someone to have access to your money just incase of emergency and then you list beneficiaries to your account in case you die. The secondary owner will get all the money because they own it as much as you do. You both would have to die before beneficiaries would get the money. If you want your wishes carried out put say your sister as an "authorized signer" she has no ownership of the money and at your death the account is closed and distributed to the beneficiaries equally say your nieces. :)

That makes sense, Princess. I'm taking all my loot with me, to the grave.

Smart move Papa. Money makes even the closest of families evil terrible human beings. Everytime I think I'll never see anything worse, here comes worse. :(

I never want to be rich. I love to have my needs and simple wants met but I don't need more than that. Money changes people and the people around them. :)

You are very wise, Princess. I can see why I brought you to this thread. I feel the same way, as long as I can pay the bills and have some left over for necessities, including vaping supplies, I'm happy.

Good morning, Voltians,

Have some delicious Kati Kati coffee.

I have a couple of minor projects on the list and maybe a little laundry,

Mostly, I thought I would play with my little horseys.

Then, I'm staying inside and staying cool. It was 100 degrees yesterday. That is hot!

I took a walk around the neighborhood today. It's been a while, since I had pneumonia about a month ago, then rested up in any spare time I had, so I never did get out for walks. I was amazed at how far along the flowers are. I think somewhere deep in my mind, I expected them at more or less the stage I left them last, as if life outside had stopped when life inside slowed down. Hmm ... maybe that's why I thought it was still June, Lizzie.

So they have started putting siding on the house across the street. It's been a very long while since I reported on its progress, mainly because they were doing interior work, and there wasn't much change to the outside, once they got the basic structure built. So here's the house as it is now.

I think you're right, Q. Here's a picture of the house as it was before the fire.

It's interesting to see the progress being made on the house.

I suspect they will look the same, or very close, once the detail above the windows is installed. The windows have the same number of mullions, so now it's just getting that nice detail work done, and that's probably not going on until the siding gets to the tops of the windows.

We had a full afternoon and evening, so far, of thunderstorms. The worst of it has managed to miss our little piece of "paradise", but it has rained pretty hard. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice, but when I went out to Costco before noon it was like walking into a steam bath.

Lizzy, are your sprinkler zones ahead of or after the pressure regulator? I am seriously considering adding two zones, manual valve controls, for the flower beds around the house plus the existing zone for the garden. All I'd need to do is get an "X" and some valves. I already have heads and the 1/2" and 1/4" tubing.

I don't have strictly sprinkler zones.

I have timer [if there is one], filter, pressure regulator, mainline tubing with up to ten sprinklers towards the beginning and lots of woodpecker drippers on the trees and shrubs after that.

I do have one area that is virtually all sprinklers. I have between 15 and 20 sprinklers on that zone. Sprinklers take some of the pressure out of the mainline so you can only do so many. These dripworks sprinklers get plugged into the mainline tubing with a barb, placed on a stake and do 180 degrees. They spray about 3 feet wide by 2 1/2 feet forwards.

I have some pics to upload when I get a chance later today of my new fruit tree set up with manifold and such.

Also, I have some pics of the new zone that is T'ed off the old zone with a valve for each line so that only one line is watering at a time.
