Thanks for the warm welcome (back) :)
I am a little surprised so many of you have shifted to 501 and other brands. Guess that's what my Plan B needs to be. Or Plan C (wean off vaping).
I have one iClear left, but it only works on one battery - I have 4 X2s, but it only fires up on one of them. Weird huh? So I guess that's what the replacement coils will go on, and I'll start my research on where to go from there. Thanks again for the input.

I have been regularly using a compromise -- "Light" Sugar or Baking Blend. It is half sugar and half stevia. Tastes great.

Interesting! I hadn't heard of that. I'll have to look for it in the store. I use a lot of sugar when I put a little in each cup of coffee. It doesn't seem like much at the time, but it adds up.

Frankly, I'm not sure what all Hubby has tried but I do know that whenever he tries something, it is a very expensive capsule claiming to do something absolutely miraculous. The $100 per month mushroom with herbs oriental medicine capsule that will balance his what-ever is just about the last straw for me. For crying out loud, it's $100 per month. He was eyeing the $50 "booster" capsules. The whole thing is costing a fortune for what amounts to hoohaw.

I've decided I'm going to take the same amount of money and spend it on something I want that is therapeutic like hair cuts and massages!

Who cares if we manage to put anything in savings. It's only money. If it feels good, do it.

I'm trying to find a way to move forwards but I am obviously still kind of angry. He couldn't just lose ten pounds and not jog for a month or two?

Tomorrow's another day.

Star, if you plan on getting backup 510 stuff, look into the Aspire Nautilus with bottom vertical coils (BVC). Before I switched to RBAs, I had started building my Evod coils that way and it was pretty awesome. Also, on that one iClear, the positive pin might've gotten pushed in a little bit. You could try wiggling out just a hair - then it should work with all your other X2s. Or you could raise the pin on your other X2s. So are you still getting dinged on your insurance?

Hmm...:glare: Be careful with those "magic pills." They hardly ever work, and sometimes they can be harmful. They try to alter the way your body naturally works, and that can screw up your body's own mechanisms, sometimes permanently. Especially the ones that mess with Cortisol. Don't do those.

You guys eat right. If he's just wanting to drop a few, nothing beats smaller portions and exercise. That would stave off things like diabetes, heart disease, etc. The pills probably wouldn't. Plus if he becomes accustomed to smaller portions and exercise, he'll never have to worry about weight issues again. :2c:

Good point about the magic pills.

I doubt he should exercise -- at least standing up -- till he figures out what's wrong with his ankle.

But Lizzie mentioned stevia, and I researched that. It's harmless, as far as I could tell, and it's healthier than all those chemical artificial sweeteners. It's a healthy alternative to sugar, but for me, my coffee tasted different. I should try it again or maybe that half stevia, half sugar option.

I think the stevia he tried was $50 a month and in a capsule.

I was gonna suggest Xylitol (the stuff in sugar-free gum), but that stuff's toxic to pets. Like FATALLY toxic. So yeah, stevia would probably be better. The ones from organic stores had that funny anise taste that I didn't care for, but the commercial ones (like the branded ones at Safeway) are pretty good. But I'm cheap and it's hard to pass up the big bag of sucralose next to it for about half the cost.

Lizzie, he's using it as a supplement, or a sweetener?

I had to go back and back-read. So his ankle, does he remember injuring it? Is it swolen? I'm thinking he may be better off going to a real doctor, cuz it may be gout. There are a lot of dietary recommendations for that online, if he really doesn't wanna go. I had that same problem with my dad, so I tried to help him with food. And epsom salt soaks. And foot massages. The pain goes away when the swelling does. But I at least got him to go and get a blood screen, and that's where it showed up.

Sitting down, facing forward.
My first wife was, and still is, convinced that there is a pill to fix anything. While medications are important, proper nutrition and exercise are one heck of a lot more important, at least in my opinion anyway. I tried Stevia and didn't like the flavor. Now there are multiple studies that seem to indicate that non caloric sweeteners actually contribute to glucose intolerance. Other studies seem to indicate that saturated fats aren't the poison they're made out to be. The information is so conflicting I think we all need to just do what works best for us using the simplest, least complicated methods we can find.

Saturated fat in its natural state isn't bad, but when you burn it, it denatures and turns into trans fat. So if you like your steaks blackened, then you'd probably want to eat smaller steaks. Cooking in butter is OK, as long as you don't let it burn (turn dark and smoky). I think going as natural as you can possibly go with food is the way to go too, and you can easily adjust the way you eat to cure whatever ails you. It's usually because of too much or too little of a particular nutrient, so just eat more or less of whatever it is and you're good. And it's OK to cheat a little, like if you're craving something - you never wanna let your body feel deprived. hehe but lately I've been cheating a lot, hanging out with 4 big boys!:laugh:

He likes supplements. Makes him feel like he is doing something important.

He just has to watch his kidneys. My mom was like that too - she took like 12 supplements with every meal. Now she has level 3 kidney disease.

That is scary. Fortunately, a multi vitamin, fish oil are Hubby's go to supplements. And now mushrooms with herbs.

I didn't know supplements could cause kidney disease! Bill takes a lot of vitamins. I think we should list them and ask the doctor about them.

I used to take a multivitamin, but I stopped for a while, and I didn't feel any different, nor did I get sick more often, nor any other signs I should be taking it, so I haven't had a vitamin in years.
