Yes, I ordered it right after we talked about it. Took about a week to get here and I've been using it ever since. Really nice stuff with a nice, light scent.
Thanks for that tip on the Tabac! It really is nice stuff. It's a little "old fashioned" to shave with a soap, brush, cup and double edge razor but the results are well worth it (as long as you keep some liquid styptic around for those "oops" moments").
I was pleasantly surprised when I got gas for the mower, 2.759 a gallon at the local "corner" gas station that isn't actually quite at the corner.
Blowing air through the feed line to the garden went really easy and when I was done I wasn't even getting a mist. It's only about 70 or 80 feet of 1/2" line so even the little compressor I used worked for it. The ends are bagged and taped so the garden is set for the winter. I did manage to get the rototiller out the other day, when it was warm, and ran it through the whole thing, twice in roto till and twice in cultivate, to mix all the remaining plant matter and all the mulch I had spread into the soil well.

Ours is a rear tine, front wheel drive, so I don't think sandals are a good idea when using it. Even with the front wheel drive it takes a lot of muscle to work with it. The thing weighs more than I do. It was about 65 when I did it, wearing shorts and a t-shirt, and I was kind of sweaty when I got done.
The freezes here are way too hard for anything in the winter. It's not unusual to have temps below zero C or even 0 F during the winter. The ground typically freezes about a half to a full meter down so there isn't much that would grow. That's why I wanted to blow all the water out of the buried feed line...I don't want to dig it up to fix a crack.

I just realized something. Since Bill has Sundays off now, he's been watching DVDs, which mostly I'm not all that interested in. Recently, he's been watching a TV series called Game of Thrones. When I heard the name, it rang a bell. I copy edited some books in that series. Still, I've copy edited and proofread a lot of books in my long career doing that, so I just mentioned it and let it go. But in the background is the sound of what he's watching, and after a few weeks of him seeing this, I started to piece together what the books had been about. I just asked him about it, and he confirmed that the characters I remember are those in his stories. It's sort of neat when you know you were in on the ground floor (the manuscript from the author) of something that became famous afterward.

There was frost on the pumpkin, and everything else as well, here this morning! 30 degrees when I got up and it dropped to 29 just before sunrise! Too cottin pickin cold for this early in the season.

Frenchman's Lake is beautiful and has some of the tastiest trout with deep orange flesh. We are having them tonight with almondine sauce. I'm pretty sure acorn squash will be on the menu and some home made French fries We have lots of potatoes and squash to eat up.
I have a house to clean later and a few errands to run.

Today i was handling some pallet wood and i got a splinter which was an inch or more in length!!! Was lucky and it got only under the skin but i was pulling hard and couldn't get it out! I'm sure if i took a picture i could freak the whole internet lol but i didn't think of it.
Then i cutted the upper side of the skin with the knife through the whole length and it came out, it was like having a small canal in my hand lol.
Had some hansaplast spray dandage with me which kinda fixed the gap problem ahahaha! Glued everything together.
It also dissinfects the area but it stings so much it would be probably better to leave the splinter on...
Other than that normal day, checked the internet for funny stuff, feeded animals, prepared some tools for my fireworks and back home.

What's a little minor surgery between friends? LOL Glad it was just under the top layer. As long as it wasn't treated lumber you're OK. I managed to nick the tip of my right thumb washing a pair of fancy kitchen scissors the other day. What a pain in the thumb! I'm right handed and keep seeping a little just from normal activity. A bandaid won't stay put because it's up in the center of the top pad and I'm always washing my hands.
I don't think even that would work through the full winter. It gets too cold at night and the sun is fairly low, even at noon. It would heat during the day, but without an auxiliary heat source for night time, dead or frozen dead whatevers.
I just went out and got propane for the little auxiliary heater we use. Then I hopped up on th roof, OK I cheated and used a ladder, and blew the leaves out of the gutters. We're supposed to get a 'noreaster tomorrow through Thursday.
